i saw this building when i was in shanghai. i didn't like the forecourt, waay too impersonal and intimidating as an entrance. And the shops might have fronted the six floors of windows, but you're not inclined to think that they're anything but exhibits because you can't see human traffic inside. which is why it probably fails as a shopping centre. but at 333m, another addition to Shanghai's aesome skyline already, and on the opposite side of the pudong river.

I liked this tower so much better when it had those cross bracings visible. Now its just a normal tower. Still nice though.

Wow! It's very far away from the "city Center" right? (the zone where is the Jim Mao and the IFC)

Well, it's actually in the very centre of the city.
Jinmao and SWFC are in the east, not the centre.

Class looking tower. So giant spire on this one then

7 World Trade
June 28th, 2005, 06:49 AM
it's decent, but it just can't match up to sunjoy tomorrow square. it can use a shorter spire, and that broad side makes it rather bulky from some persepctive.

Great addition in the skyline, as we can see in the last picture.

the building did make some progress over the last 2 months.. they added some glass on the top levels, but it doesn't seem to be going fast. the mall underneath the tower however, is finished. and yes, it's not bad :)

I thought it was already finished... :SAccording to SSP it is. Is that pic from xitek.com recent?

In any case it's looking really good. Although I can't help balking at having to call this building 333m and Shaghai's second tallest building, but meh, what are you going to do.

As you can see in this pic, the building is already finished. Or, at least the exterior work has come to an end.

It's Guangming Building, an old building, under renovation.

For some reason I don't like this building. Am I the only one here? Hmm anyways it looks like the Bank of China tower in HK being cut off. Anyways a lot of the buildings in Shanghai is nice but theres at least 3 buildings I find it ugly. One of them is the pineapple looking top, the flying saucer top and the sharp white pointy building in the above 2 pics behind this new building.

I have to agree... I dont hate it, but I'm just not a big fan. It's like they just stopped building it before they got all the way to the top, and just stuck up two big spires instead. It does have better angles from the other side though.
