Thats weird, theres only 2 in Texas.

That was my reaction, too. Quite odd. Though, I agree on both of their choices.

No Hooters or Waffle Houses made the list?

This is a joke! Only two in texas. Houston has more restaurants anybody in the nation except New York. Houston should have a long list of restaurants that is 5 diamonds.

I understand your reaction, but really if you look at the list, obviously there are very few "5 diamond " restaurants in the whole U.S. That doesn't mean there are not countless excellent restaurants throughout the country. Besides, it's all opinion anyway. Being a vegetarian, I may not like a lot of the restaurants listed, and may love some that are only "2 diamond".

Who cares? If it's good, it's edible... diamonds or no diamonds.

Last I heard, the only 5 Star & 5 Diamond restaurant in the south was the Mansion on Turtle Creek in Dallas.

BTW, there may be more restaurants in Houston, but IHOP's and Burger King's don't count on this list. :bash:

there are only six in Cal. four in NY, and 10 in Canada. The list is so exlusive, that the south does quite well. But, I expected TX to have at least four.

I'll eat anything, even if it's at a place that has -5 stars (if you go by food quality alone), like The Varsity.

Still - surprised none from New Orleans made it...
