Tulips, a flower indigenous to Iran


Tulip-lovers can go to Iran and discover the land where tulips have come from and enjoy gazing at vast fields of the 'Laleh' flowers.

Although tulips are associated with Holland, both the flower and its name originated in the Iran, where both are associated with turbans.

Tulip or 'Laleh' as it's called in Persian is a flower indigenous to Iran. A Dutch ambassador in Iran in the 16th century who was also a great floral enthusiast, brought back tulips with him upon his return to the Netherlands in 1592 A.D., and from then onwards it became known to the whole world.

Tulips are believed to be native to southern Europe, north Africa, and Asia from Anatolia and Iran from east to northeast of China and Japan.

The tulips are so beautiful that one cannot help picking them; but remember picking tulips is prohibited in Iran!

Yes. These pictures are from Baghe Lale in Gachsar, north of Karaj.

Do they export flowers?

Iran does export flowers...mostly to European countries who then label them as their own....

as is the case with Persian Marble.

well not only from Iran but many countries after import name them thier own

of course...

u go to some supermarkets and they sell Iran's exports openly...but others u see the same product without Irans name...and in its place "Product of more than one country..."
