Sofia was the very first city outside Albania I ever visited, and just after Tirana and Durres in Albania.

I have only the best memories I could ever have. Great city! Great people!

I stayed at Downtown Hotel @ Vassil Levski blvd. The hotel had recently been built (renovated maybe) at that time and was rather new. It was a nice 4* and everything was perfect. The building itself was very nice as well:

As for the Millenium Center, good question, I've been seeing mentions of the building around for a long time, but I haven't seen any news in a long time. And since we have our very own Sofia correspondent, maybe Braykov might know something

Well I have no idea about the history of this building but it's nice that finally somebody renovated it:) because it's located in the very centre of the city and just some months ago the facade was peeling and it looked really bad.

Well they've done very well, the choice of color is good, the red background to the grey columns and statue is great. It looks really good to the eye in the picture.
It would be even better if they could get rid of all the cables though

Our modern architecture is still quite behind unfortunately :( BUT the way Bulgarian econmy is going, we might look forward to a bright Bulgarian future and we are soon joining the EU, so things just keep getting better and better :D

I was in Sofia last year. I really enjoyed myself! It isn't a very beautiful city, but all the trees and the good atmosphere more than compensated! I hope I will return there. :)
