The 2005 Financial Times Global 500 list was published today. The list ranks the top 500 companies in the world. While, as usual, American companies dominated the rankings, Saudi companies made a strong showing.
I've filtered the MEA companies, there are only eleven. This is how they stand:
1. (22) SABIC - KSA
2. (87) Saudi Telecom - KSA
3. (138) Etisalat - UAE
4. (160) Samba Financial - KSA
5. (191) alRajhi Banking and Investment - KSA
6. (223) Saudi Electricity - KSA
7. (391) Sasol - RSA
8. (422) Riyad Bank - KSA
9. (464) Standard Bank - RSA
10. (477) Saudi British Bank - KSA
11. (485) Etihad Etisalat - KSA

They know how to steel our money.
Emaar is supposed to be in the list but I cannot find it.
Also the company will double its budget so I would expect Emaar to pass Etisalat too.

Also put in mind that SABIC is one of the Middle East's largest non-oil
industrial companies.

Thanks for posting it HiJazzey...
btw, Sasol and Standard Bank are South African companies and RSA stands for Republic of South Africa...
One question, why isn't Saudi Aramco in that list?

Etisalat bought Pakistan Telecommunications Company Ltd (PTCL) yesterday for $2.59 billion...PTCL provides GSM, WLL, Internet (etc.) services and its the only fixed-Line service provider in Pakistan - Etisalat certainly has become enormous!!
