Maybe one of the last bldgs higher than 8 storeys to be built in Sutherland Shire, since new council highrise limitations ahe come in.there are now 9 scrapers in the shire!
The massive CATALINA complex in Caringbah (30km south of Sydney) is being developed by MERITON and is approx half completed.

The 12storey/33m bldg encompasses a large block adjacent to Caringbah Station on the Kingsway!
I drove past last week took pic! The crane is huuuuuuge!!

Geez cul that crane is enormous! How far is it from your place?

There's a few around my lodging, (New Farm - 2kM from CBD) but even in the City there's nothing as monsterous as that.

Thanks for informing us about this project. I had no idea about it's status. The Kingsway appears dead. Hope it revitalises the area.

ozstralien, i live about 5mins drive from catalina. you can see the crane from all over. its a bout 200ft high x 200ft beam.
fab, it was late afternoon on a sunday, i think everyone was at the beach! that part of Caringbah is actually very busy with constant traffic jams.

Quite a large project. Reminds me of Australand's Quadrant off Broadway in layout.

Looking good. Like the fascade with the blue. Very bright.

It looks fairly short too. The floor to ceiling height's in apartment towers have really shrunk heaps in recent years.

Catalina is looking superb. Meriton have have done well!
It such a big development -something like 180 units!

The enormous 200ft crane was removed last week so the complex is looking 90% complete! very nice for our area!

Looking beautiful.

managed to get to Caringbah today for some quick snaps of the completed Catalina. Its a very smart looking apartment block, nicely finished. meriton sure have improved in past decade.

Very smart design that doesn't impact on the Caringbah streetscape too much. I can barely see it from Captain Cook Bridge.
