Hey just wondering what this is, according to Ian Simpson they are at early stages in devloping a 30 storey tower.
Ian Simpson Architects has been appointed as the architect for a key 30 million GBP development site, formerly the location of ATS, by Liverpool-based developer, Downing Developments, after a competitive interview and design competition process, in conjunction with Manchester City Council.
The site of the proposed development lies just inside the Mancunian Way stretch of inner ring road around central Manchester, and is bounded by Wilmot Street, Newcastle Street and Chester Road.
Two buildings, one high rise and one medium rise, will be located above an elevated landscaped podium. A 135,000 sq ft 30 storey high rise element will provide 300 key worker apartments. A 100,000 sq ft building medium rise element will provide 350 student bedrooms organized in clusters of 6 around a communal space.
