decided to go downtown today to the city admin. building where the public hearing dept. is. wanted to see if i could find some renderings i haven't seen yet for various projects. let me tell you, i'm gald as hell i decided to go check it out cause it was well worth my time.

first of all, the people there were super cool & were very accomodating. gave me access to anything i could find. i asked if i could take pictures, figuring i had a 50-50 chance at best, & the lady didn't even bat an eyelash & said go for it.

she also asked if i'd seen their website, which, of course, i hadn't, so she showed it to me. the city of miami site has a page where they've started uploading all of the project docs (renderings & all) for public view. exactly what we've all been wanting. here's the link: http://www.ci.miami.fl.us/pages/ from there, click on "Legislative Hub" in the "Your Government" area at the bottom & a full screen page will open up. click on "Legislative files" & you'll get a search bar. search for projects by address or name. they're still updating projects so not everything's on there yet, but a bunch of projects are.

now, to the pics i took at the office:

a few i snagged from the website docs:

& finally, just cause it's so damn fun to save the best for last, i was able to get a pic of Brickell Citi Centre while at the office:

as ice cube said, today was a good day. :pepper:

EDIT: i gotta say, since seeing these new renderings of 600 Biscayne, it's really grown on me. i *might* just have to take back what i said before about it not working with the freedom tower, cause these pics make it look like it compliments it fairly well. or at least doesn't completely drown it as much as i had thought.

you know what it was, hatter? i actually called a couple of the phone #'s on the city report & one of the people i talked to said that all of the info was available at this office. she said i could go check it out so i did. definitely a good decision & i'm glad i went.

nothing else interesting to tell you, other than that office is a goldmine of info. they literally have boxes stacked up against the walls that have various project names written on the outside of them. inside the boxes (& there's numerous boxes for each project) there's a bunch of jacketed project presentations with all the info that the city is now putting up on the website i mentioned above. i just skimmed through them looking for renderings & snapped what i could.

i checked out the paramount park stuff but couldn't find any renderings other than the one we've all seen. there's a ton of others ( i saw portico) but i didn't wanna linger all day checking out each box. it is, after all, a working office. but the lady said i could come back whenever i like so i might just do that when new projects are announced.

What a poor decision on 600 Biscayne....looks exactly like 900....looks like Terra isn't putting too much thought into their projects.....come up with something different if your going to be 3 blocks away! Poor, poor, poor......

Dave, unlike Mad Hatter, I'm not gay. So let me just tell you how much I appreciate your efforts here.

Just kidding, Hatter. I love you man. ;)

And Citi Centre looks Hong-Kongish, which is not a bad thing in my book.

You could take all the pics you want. All information and materials owned by the City are Public Record. Unlike sales offices, they city couldn't stop you from hanging out there all day if you wanted to.

A screen capture of a document submitted by Platinum Bay (page 29 of "drawings submitted") showing a renderring of the future Uptown skyline. This is just the Paramount - Blue portion, it extends further south in the PDF showing the towers going up on Biscayne as well.

They are both supposed to be smaller than Four Seasons but not that much smaller. Four Seasons is 789ft, Infiniti I is 604ft and Infiniti II is 736ft.

right, & i knew that going in. but these days people can be weird about visitors (especially when they're toting cameras) so there's always the chance they say get the hell out of here even if they have no right to do so.

the other thing i wasn't sure about was whether or not they'd let me get pics of projects that haven't been approved yet, but it wasn't an issue.

Yes for two reasons: one the 700 and 701 addresses indicate both an eastern and western building (even #s one side of street odd #s r on the other side) and the rendering shows a street between the left (west) tower and then the right (east) two.
This will be a great development after passing vue/axis/flatiron/mbvillage/premieire then this then tobacco road and then the river!

June 24th, 2005, 07:57 PM
i figured it was both sides of the ave. when i saw the 700 & 701 addresses, but i searched for 701 on the city's property boundaries site & couldn't find it. pretty sure they can & have created new addresses for large projects to unify the address so maybe that's what's going on here.

it's also hard to tell by this rendering if there is in fact a road between the towers, but that's what i thought too.

i'd love to see these get built cause it's a different style for miami.

Great skyline pix! Miami is awesome. The MIA-FTL-WPB region is a great metro. One day we'll have one continuous skyline from MIA to WPB!(west of the intercoastal) :)
We almost have that now with the condos along the beaches.

Continuous skyline, except for the surface parking lot that surrounds Freedom Tower. Aside from that, yes, a continuous skyline from Brickell to WPB.

Am I becoming annoying. :)
