I was curious to see if most of the members of the fourm lived in a urban enviroment. As much as i love cities and large buildings i live out in the country!

Urban/Suburban Area for me.

I don't see myself ever living in the country. They are some nice scenic areas most of the time and there is nothing wrong with the country, I am just not a country person.

I like urban...but I would vacation in the country. Its one of those, nice to visit not to live kinda things.

Like Both.. But my heart says me to vote Urban/Suburban area :)

As much as I love skyscrapers and major cities... if I was given the choice between living in an urban area, or having sex with a broom stick, I'd totally give the broom stick a good lesson in sodomy. :) I have way too many bad experiences with cities. :(

Urban definately, the only place I would live that is rural is in Norway.

I love the city, love the country too, but i HATE the suburbs.

I've lived in a rather rural area for 5 years and it was sooo boring as a teenager.
I also dislike suburban areas. They are in most cases too far away from the city center for me.

I´m living in an urban area and I can´t imagine to live on the country. Maybe I´ll change my mind when I´m old!

Rural is better than most urban areas but good urban can easily defeat rural landscapes.

I live out in the boonies, but everyone in my family lives in the Golden Horseshoe

I love pure rural areas...especially Montana and old country towns. I also love the downtowns and midtowns of "real" cities. However I despise suburban developments since the 1950's. The worst are gated communities and cul-de-sacs, so soul numbing. I like beach towns too.
Ideally a place in both would work for me. I prefer motorcycles to cars.

Outside the city I can deal with these environments.

Urban center that is Chicago. I couldn't imagine living in a rural area,that would be awful.

The suburbs own.

Im pretty well setup where i live... im out in the country surrounded on three sides by forest and fields, there is a wide variety of wild animals and birds. But, i also live with a half hour drive of six cities of over 100,000 people and im only 75km from downtown Toronto. I like to best of both worlds scenerio!

I'd go for the urban enviroment. I'd love to spend a week or two in a place like this, though:

I too like the best of both worlds. I have lived in both Urban, (Washington DC,) and in Rural, (Here in South Carolina.) Also lived in Suburban areas of Georgia and North Carolina but It would be hard for me to live in a completely urban area again since I have large Greenhouses and my partner has tons of exotic animals. I cant see that in Silver Springs Maryland, where I grew up.

I currently reside in Pleasantville, NY, which is a suburb that is about 20-30 miles north of NYC in Westchester County.

I think urban poblation is healthier, but _I love modernity, I want to live in los Angeles, Queretaro city isnt so exciting

(Sub)urban area.

Urban, in the center, where all the action is at. Traffic, noise, school children, crying of neighbors babies from the flat below, no yard to clean and maintain... and 10 minutes walk from everything I need - perfect living conditions.

I like rural but not agricultural rural. More nature rural.

my ideal for living is an attractive, green yet densish urban area big enough to have the facilities I like but small enough to be walkable/cyclable, not have urban crime problems or expensive housing etc and close enough to rural areas for leisure at weekends (which is pretty much a description of where I live).

More remote rural areas and big cities for holidays.

Non-dense, non-walkable far from facilities suburbs are the worst of both worlds imo

I love winter park florida both urban and suburban not far from downtown Orlando and near everything we have a nice diverse crowd of all ages all races all cultures and we have a very strong art community with so much history great place to live

I like URBAN environments the most, it's nice to visit RURAL areas sometimes but I tottaly hate SUBURBS.

Funny, I made this thread 5 years ago, 2 months before I moved to the city and have been living in an urban enviroment every since. Im some ways I miss the country living, but in others I dont. Mainly being able to walk every where and affordable taxi rides home from the bar!

I live in a very urban area. Literally only two streets away from the state line and military (army) base, and about 45 minutes north of Nashville. I've lived in the country, and I can tell ya I hated it. I sort of hate where I'm at now. It doesn't have that big city feel that I love so much.

Maybe in the US where cities are giant villages, but certainly not around here.
