What website would you guys recommend for serious photographers who have pretty good digital cameras and know quite a lot about photographic techniques, but have'nt yet moved up to a DSLR system?

Why? Any website with amateur photographers. Look at my signature. I dont shoot with a DSLR.

I use PBase, it is an all around good site IMO. I don't have a DSLR either, but some of my pics have gotten good reviews, as in the Urban Photo contest this week.

Pbase is the site for photography in my opinion. There is everything: Professional and non professional people.

I also have a PBase account. See my sig.

You do not need a DSLR for most kinds of shots. A very good P&S will do just as well or almost as well. There are things a DSLR does better but most amateurs wont have the technical ability to take advantage to the fullest of a DSLR's capabilities. And oh yes, pros use P&S's and win awards. Check out Magnum Photos and Alex Majoli. Also, check some of my pics, like Sea of Color that won the frst unurban Photo Contest. I dont think that a DSLR would have taken a much better shot than my Sony Cybershot DSC P200.

I like Pbase but for the interraction with other photographers I much prefer Trek Earth. I use PBase as a gallery for my very favorite work.

I should have stated my preferences clearer. I want a website that is FREE!! All the time. Trek Earth looks pretty good!

23 bucks a year isnt much:) But yeah, TE is free and I think its better as far as communication with other photographers. PBase is better because you arent restricted to 800pixels and you have no compression limits.
