2 towers in the complex, really? where are they going to build them? no space, isn't it?

hmm the rendering leads me to believe that they will cover the existing building with a glass facade and build a tower on the right (touching the existing building) and another tower at the back and on the left hand side. They'll probably demolish that small building behind.

here's what it looks like right now. The fact that they just finished renovating the facade tells me that the facelift project is still at least a year or two away...

i know its great that a lot of buildings are being built in jakarta right now. but with hotel indonesia and now sarinah, don't you guys think that we're losing a lot of our architectural history here? i mean, they're not pretty anymore by today's standards, but it seems like we're erasing our history very fastly...

The structure of Hotel Indonesia will remain intact, that's why its not being demolished...the government luckily intends to preserve its historic form, being the 1st skyscraper in Indonesia and all!

While reading the scanned image of the design magazine posted earlier, I stumbled upon this...
"Gubahan masa senada dengan bentuk baku dari masa eksisting yang kotak. Elemen eye catcher tampilan baru berupa grand entrance dengan podium yang menonjolkan bidang bingkai miring aluminium panel."
Anyone actually realized the language this magazine is using? Indonesian? English? It doesn't even make sense..."masa eksisting yang kotak", "bingkai miring aluminium panel"??? (If I am not mistaken, the correct syntax will be putting your noun then followed by the adjective , hence "panel aluminium".)
Excuse me for taking up the space for my rambling...It's just my two-cent on the degrading quality of our language. Do we "deserve" a breed of creolized English and illegible Indonesian?

Its Bahasa Melayu I think (krn biasanya Bhs Melayu agak kedegeran aneh) and makes me bangga ama bhs Ind. becuz IMO Bhs.Indonesia its more Sempurna
