So lets start off with Locke Street which is also known as LoSo http://www.loso.ca/

Basically this picture sums up what Locke Street is all about, antiques shops.

Locke Street has been undergoing revitalization for over the past 5 years, which I think you can all agree it’s been a success.

Now onto Hess Village which is a pub district in Hamilton. Locke Street is near Hess Village which is on Hess Street. Lots of pubs and restaurants. At night the whole area is a night club. I love Hess Village personally.

Now here are a few Main Street West photos

Yea that's me taking a picture in the middle of the busiest street in Hamilton. See that brown building on the left? That’s the old Federal office building which is going to be turned into condos this year ($20 million)

That's where I get my teeth done, dentist office

Main Street is a 5 lane one way street, pretty much a highway through Hamilton. Though there are plans to reduce Main Street into 3 lanes. One lane just for the bus and then bigger sidewalks.

When I was in Hess Village, it was incredible.. kind of like Yorkville in Toronto- more exciting in a few respects, too. I also liked how in the Hess Area, across (Main?... maybe it was another main street... one up from the street the new art gallery is on) Street there is a dense area of highrises, which is quite clean and has a modern atmosphere, and everyone pours out of the buildings after a long week and walk down to Hess Village for a good time with friends.

That would be King Street West, another area that's being changed with new streetscape.

Back in the 70's City Hall wanted to flatten everything down at Hess Village (wasn't a village back then) and turn the area into apartments. Glad that didn't happen.

Thanx Lucky 24
