This list is quite outdated and Im sure that there are some projects missing and some numbers may be wrong. Other projects are stale proposals which Im not sure if they were finally cancelled or maybe they are just waiting for a resurrection as it happened to SWFC, that's why I included them too. If somebody tells me which ones were cancelled I will take them away. Some projects could be repeated under different names and designs as different proposals for the same project. Please, help me to correct this too and lets make a great job together.

*Guangzhou twin towers are not included since I think they still havent chosen final project from these 5 finalists: 1 (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v468/izomax/12.jpg), 2 (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v468/izomax/18.jpg), 3 (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v468/izomax/11.jpg), 4 (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v468/izomax/19.jpg) and 5 (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v468/izomax/5.jpg). As soon as they chose one of them I will include it in the list.

A lot of those buildings are not going to be built. Off the top of my head, Asia Plaza, Chongqing Tower, Xujiahui Tower and Gateway III aren't going to happen.

But that CCTV Tower is a cool one, ain't it?

Taipei is part of the other China. Sort of like Northern Ireland being both part of Ireland and not.

America won't catch up. There is too much latent criticism in American society, and free speech lets it all out; Chinese officials silence complains regarding most development. This is a compliment on America's civil superiority, but it does not lend well to the skyscraper race. :)

I love the Gateway III design. It looks far larger than it is, almost as a stone monolith the size of Hawaii, belonging in a Blade Runner cityscape.

i don't think america even wants to catch up. people like their suburbs. love it or hate it, the vast majority of americans don't really like living in big cities. Nor do they like living or working in skyscrapers. So when people move, they move to houses, and when coroporations expand, they build low rise office buildings in the suburbs.

i guess the vast majority of us just like our suburbs.

that said, I hope they keep building them in China! Most of those buildings are just stunning!

Even the lesser known Chinese cities are building like crazy.

There's just too many cool towers! :D
