Monkey June 29th, 2005, 06:07 PM it's in EILAT (http://www.skyscrapercity.com/showthread.php?t=87669) (South Israel)
source26 June 29th, 2005, 08:38 PM Sorry to spoil the excitement - but it is pure Kitsh!!
I dont like the egyptian motifs wen they say its the story of the bible.
The bible and Israel had nothing to do with pharaoh and ancient egyptian
architecture.

Right....I'm sorry, in what land did that book of the bible..what is it called again, o ya, Exodus, take place in??
source26 June 29th, 2005, 09:12 PM Most of it actually took place in Sinai. But its called "Kings" and it
tells the stories of the kingdom of Israel.. which last time I checked
wasin.. Israel!
source26 June 29th, 2005, 09:13 PM and what are those hideous cats with wings?!
when did any religion in this region believe in cat angels?
Monkey June 29th, 2005, 09:18 PM i think it's forbidden in judaism no?
עגל הזהב לא?
source26 June 29th, 2005, 09:35 PM yep, no animal-angels and statues in our religion..
we dont make human beings into saints either.
The only place I can think of where angels are portrayed is on the
holy of holies - two angel figures guard the chest,
but they are meant not to reseble any human figure and some say that it is sort of an alien figure (big head, slim body, wings) which may hold clues to something of a memory chest they gave earth.. who knows, it was good enough for an indiana jones movie..
Another theory says it is in Ethiopia or underneath the rock in the dome of the rock.
Maybe we will never know.
source26 June 29th, 2005, 09:41 PM the architecture of the "Kings City" has motifs of decoration from
the Mamluchim and Ottomans, with egyptian pillars. Its a mess!
bluejon June 29th, 2005, 10:49 PM Why cant you just appreciate the fact that it's a beautifully done building. It's an attraction, not a temple. The architecture is from the region during the time the stories that are told inside were told!
TheBaseTower June 30th, 2005, 04:38 AM Amazing.. i like the idea, eliat is getting better and better :)

I think they suppose to be a lion's female.
the lion is the symbole of jerusalem.
In many jewish books you can see lions with wings as symbole of the ancient kingdom!
RoM June 30th, 2005, 04:34 PM Israelis love to vent dont they? its a beautiful project which will attract more people to the nice city of Eilat, cant you all just enjoy it?
