Nice pictures, that Central Do Brazil reminds me of Paseo de la Castellana in Madrid, I don't know why.

actually, City of God (name of the movie) refers to the name of a shantytown in Rio de Janeiro, not to Rio de Janeiro city itself.

thanks.....anyways, it's good to see some downtown pics of Rio and not just the beaches which are already world-famous. Rio, for example, has a beautiful theater, which I think looks even better than the Teatro Municipal in Sampa on the outside.

somelc, is it really necessary to keep bumping up mass quantities of 2 or 3-year-old threads? There must be dozens of more recent threads on most of these cities, surely you can look at them instead of bumping up these ancient ones.
