Tucson: Mexican city from 1821-1853 :)

Tucson is the second-largest city in Arizona and one of the fastest growing metropolitan areas in the US with almost 1 million inhabitants. The city was founded in 1776 and remained until 1821 under Spanish rule. After it was ruled by the Mexicans until 1853 it became part of the USA. Since 1885 Tucson is home to the University of Arizona, with 36,000 students one of the largest universities in the West. The city is surrounded by the beautiful Sonoran desert which is full of the unique Saguaro cacti.
Until today the city is under influence of Hispanic culture which is expressed in architecture, music and lifestyle. Enjoy the wonderful Southwestern Adobe buildings, the beautiful campus and the small downtown skyline.

It has been an American city for more than 150 years, it was Mexican only for a few years but its the most Mexican looking city I've seen in the States.

Definitely Tucson is a very nice city.

Me encanta Tucson, Realmente tiene muy buenos lugares, y el Downtown está muy bonito.

La gente de Mochis va mucho para allá de shopping, porque es lo más cercano.

Gran parte de la poblacion Sinaloense y Sonorense utiliza esta ciudad para ir de compras, puedes ir cualquier fin de semana y encontraras cientos de Mexicanos en los Malls de esta ciudad, a mi me encanta ir, de hecho yo acabo de llegar de aya el Lunes, estuve el puente de dia de muertos por aya de compras =D

Lo ví como el San Antonio de aquél lado. Casi del mismo tamaño y con la misma cosa de que todos los mexicanitos vamos a esas ciudades de shopping. Me gustó mucho la ciudad, solo he estado ahí una vez y la verdad es que no me acuerdo de nada.
Me gustó por que tiene mucho mas estilo que San Antonio, como que mas identidad, la del desierto.
Este thread está viejísimo, pero que bueno que lo revivieron.
Ahhh, otra cosa, alguien me podría dar los datos de la composicion étnica de Tucson, o alguien tiene alguna idea? Es mas "hispana" que San Antonio que tiene el 57%?

Proviene de la palabra "chuk shon" del o'odham y significa "suelo negro" en referencia a las famosas montañas volcánicas que rodean el lado oeste de la ciudad.-

Me gusto mucho la arquitectura de Tucson, en realidad es muy interesante, me gusto el edificio School of Dance, es interesante la mezcla de corrientes arquitectonicas Mexicana y Estadounidenses

jajajajjajaja preguntame a mi nos hemos ido hasta los angeles en carro!, la verdad es divertido por ke asi konoces mushas cosas y aparte te puedes traer mas cosas ke si fueras en avion, yo fui hace un año exactamente y en navidad ire asta las vegas! en carro jajajajaj mas o menos son 13 horas de mazatlan a tucson!

pues a mi no me gusta jaja ... bueno es que no me gustan las ciudades planas que estan en el desierto ...

JAja yo fui desde Culiacan hasta San Francisco en carro, llegue muerto pero valio la pena, eM Tucson a mi me gusta por que ahi voy de compras y todo pero para ser sinceros gran parte de la ciudad es muy fea y reseca, aunke yo me encierro todo el dia en mall y lo demas no me importa
