That is cool, makes me feel kind of good. I didn't think the U.S. was too high with many foreigners opinions as of late.

Well I dont know how they celebrate it (or if they do) in other EU countries ... but Danes have been celebrating this day since 1912 :) I don't know of any other country that does that

I'm not really sure .. but we got our fair shares :) .. Americans arent that uncommon in Denmark ..

you will find 4th of july celebrations all over the world. they are not sponsored by the governments of other countries however. i live in sydney and typically an organisation like the americna society or democrats (or republicans) abroad will host events catered to americans. its quite possible (likely?) that the event in Denmark was organised by an American organisation and that most in attendance are expats.

Well the real story (which i just found out a few minutes ago) is that Rebild Bakker used to be a peice of land owned by an American, and he later gave it back to Denmark, with the acception of it being used once a year (4th of july) to celebrate the American independance ... so I guess it is only there that its celebrated..

Where did you people get that from? To tell you the truth I don't really know anybody at all that hates the US ... I know A LOT of people who hate George Bush, but thats it ... Theres no reason for anyone to hate the US, other than the fact that you have an idiot for a president ;) Just my opinion. I really hate him :)
And you're welcome! :)

^Well, you know that, and I know that, but unfortunately many people around the world see the US through one view and one view only... but thanks for not hating us :)

Me!!

I'm here for a month, and although I like it very much, there's truly nothing like home. I'm not saying the US is better than Denmark, or anywhere else, it's just my home and I love it to death.

I don't think most people in Europe hate us. The ones that do are pretty loud. But I think most of them still like us. They don't care for our current administration but that is different.

Happy 4th everyone. City Hall, Baltimore - Flag with 15 stars in honor of the War of 1812. As you know, the British had burned Washington and the citizens of Baltimore saved the country!
