The destroyers look impressive. Where is it? And is it a carrier in that photo with the submarines?

Awesome pics.

How many aircraft carriers does the Royal Navy have..

Superb photos, the one with the subs has four carriers Charles de Gaul (Fra), Saipan (USA) Invincible (or Illustrious) (UK) and Pricipe de Austrias (Spa).

Good to see the Russian Udaloy class (with the 605 on it), as in good that they are still putting to sea and able to attend an event like this.

I went to the Battle of the Atlantic 50th celebration a few years ago, and the Russians sent a Sovremmeny class cruiser, it was definately the star of the show (even though the USS Eisenhower was there).

Noticed something interesting, sixth photo down on the right appears to be an old type 22 (as in ex-RN) which seems to have sprouted a 76mm OtoMelera gun turret ! I think they were sold off to Chile or Brazil or somewhere, so they must have a re-fit and rearm in her time away.

The modified type 22 is the Romanian ship "Regina Maria", ex HMS London, one of two modified and sold to the Romanian Navy. The ship is still working up in Portsmouth, will be leaving later this year. I went on board and the crew were very freindly and informative. The Exocet and Seawolf have been removed and the gun added. Top marks must go the Indian Navy for hospitalty, very pleasant and polite people (the picture in question was taken from INS Mumbai)

Shohad- the venue was Portsmouth naval base on the south coast of England, the review being in the Solent, a channel of water betwwen the mainland and the Isle of Wight, my viewpoint being Stokes Bay, views of Portsmouth from Portsdown Hill
