Why do you post pictures of homeless people and call it the good stuff :nono:, some decency please. Overall nice pictures. I like the evening shots, very few people on the streets though, they're the essence of every city.

Indeed having a home under a bridge must be very comfortable and of course a work of art.

Well, after your comment and your title to the thread, I have a strong reason to believe that your sense of decency resides right there where you said, in your lower part.

Art is in the eye of the beholder.. who the hell are you to judge what I, or anyone else considers art?.. and who said it had to be pretty.. I love grit, and happen to study sociology..this is a part of it, and urban life as we know it.. If you can't handle it.. go to emporis...

when i say "the good stuff" I mean good pics, and views in general.. not the two homeless ppl featured in my thread, you jackass..

Great photos! Some great photos of Downtown with some awesome lighting. I especially like Downtown with the train on the elevated tracks. I think there were two photos with a similar theme and they were different but very good.

Awesome shot of the antique Chevy!

This is not that original of a shot, but your pulled it off really well. Very disorienting, but in a good way.

Regarding the photos of the homeless, I totally disagree with chris9. It doesn't matter what you called this thread, you weren't using the homeless people to make fun of them, you seemed to be photographing in their area. You have other photos of people that seem to be nearby but aren't homeless and you photographed them too. I really can't see what Chris9 has a problem with. Maybe he thinks that any photos of the homeless is an abuse of their limited privacy and embarasses them. Well you aren't going to know that a problem exists unless you see it.

Sociology does not have anything to do with the issue here, nor the perception of art, which by the way has limits of good taste too. I know poor people are part of our every day reality, it's just not the good stuff. Whose nerves are you trying to get on by posting pictures of more homeless people - mine? You're only showing your level of maturity. That is all regarding this issue, the pictures themselves are beautiful.

You got some great pictures. I'm making my first trip to Dallas in a couple of weeks. Unfortunately it is a 1 night business trip so I probably won't get to poke around town much. Some people think if you ignore the homeless they will go away. They are part of living in the city...for better or for worse.

Thank you! and indeed..

I hope you have a great time while in town even if it is just an overnight gig..
Feel free to drop me a line for ideas, or a quick pint while your here..

Cheers..

Really impressive photos. Definitely the "good stuff," regardless of what that other guy said. The interior shots are nice, too.

One of my favorites, in addition to the very first photo. This old building is incredible. What a contrast.

Once again, another knock out post. :applause:
Dallas looks amazing. I should give Dallas a visit, travelling the city of glass and bricks on the prairie with the top down, just cruising and listening to some tunes while enjoying that Texan sun. ;)

Great post & great track! Thanks.

what self-righteous bull shit. photographers have been photographing the human condition.....and very effectively....since it was invented. How the hell do you know why the picture was taken....and why would you assume that it was thrown in here gratuitously.

you ask, "some decency please"; how about "some benefit of the doubt please" (when frankly, for the majority of us, nobody took the homeless man as being something the original poster thought was "good stuff"....or something he wouldn't have a great deal of compassion for.

*****

as for the pictures...they're terrific. What a great job of showing something that many of us forget: southwestern cities didn't spring up overnight; they have the same old buildings, (i.e. warehouses, factories) that were part of the eastern and midwestern citgies.
