Akimatsuri July 6th, 2005, 03:13 AM This tower will make a great addition to Lahore's skyline; However the website is very brief and say's that it is looking for a partner for a joint venture, could this end up like the Karachi Port tower complex?
I really hope this project goes ahead with speed.
One last thing where abouts in Lahore is this to be built?
Thanks
Tagga July 6th, 2005, 05:12 AM The detailed Designing and construction of this project was handed over to NESPAK.

huit November 14th, 2005, 08:15 PM Finally we're starting to hear news about these much anticipated projects... I hope the construction starts soon!!
Asad Abbas Syed March 10th, 2006, 12:10 PM It has been now pretty long that anyone commuincated the progress of this project. I think the project has now been finally shelved and the investor has changed his mind to build the said building, like so many in Lahore, like Faltiss hotel, Sheikh Zayyad center, PC tower, Lahore mulifunctional center and many more. On contrary, if you happens to visit Islamabad, you will certainly admire that what has so far been announced, it is happening. Unlike Lahore where every day you get the news of some project and than after somedays it settles down like a dust after the rain.

Chill out my friend. you shouldn't expect things to be approved/completed within the blink of an eye. Anyhow, you should read other topics to see that Sheikh Zayed Centre has been approved and is set for completion by the 1st of January, 2010. I don't know about the rest, so I will not comment on that.

PC has been put on hold by Lahore High Court, SZC contract has been awarded to Turner Construction and it will complete the project by 2010, Faletti is protected by some heritage conservation act and I dont see anything coming up there.
As far as projects in Lahore go you just need to go to Main Boulevard Gulberg to see how many projects have entered the construction phase.
pakboy March 11th, 2006, 07:54 PM how can you say falettis project wont happen, the group that won the auction payed a heavy amount to purchase it and at the auction the gov said they want someone to build a big commerical center there.
merijanpakistan March 12th, 2006, 05:51 AM Salam,
Two nights ago, I was reading in a book called "Freedom at Midnight" (copyrighted 1975), that Faletti hotel was in scene during the partition (and even before).... because the dignitories who visited Lahore would stay there. The book says that it was founded in 1860 by a Neapolitan who had fallen in love with a Lahore courtesan...!!
Sir Redcliffe stayed there when he was drawing the lines between Pakistan and India. Before 1947, it basically remained a "Whites-Only" club, beyond reach of ordinary citizens for the most part.
I think, may be we should just leave Falletti untouched with our capitalistic iron-hands.
Peace.
pakboy March 12th, 2006, 06:03 PM it has allready been touched and sold, and i hear the whole place was bulldozed by the group who purchased it,
merijanpakistan March 13th, 2006, 12:10 AM Salam,

Pitty, people are so happy about it.
Peace.
X-entric May 9th, 2006, 05:38 AM Yeah, so much for PARCO tower!
seems like it is permanently shelved, I saw its ads in newspapers about 2 years ago.so I think this project is no more.and so is PC tower, and so is Falettis, and so is Expo centre Lahore, which has been approved 4 times in last few years. So is another tower that mr Nazim Amir Mehmood wanted to construct.
Tagga May 9th, 2006, 08:31 AM Yeah, so much for PARCO tower!

Don't know much about PARCO.
PC Tower had legal issues, Hashoo group successfully defended the lawsuit, still no one can say anything about when the construction starts.
Faletti project was NEVER officially announced,so it never was a project, one other thing Faletti is protected by some heritage conservation law IT HAS'NT BEEN DEMOLISHED YET and if the arab investor does make up his mind to build something there he is going to have a hard time.
Expo Centre Lahore is U/C (Remember the huge tower is just a vision it is not a part of the project).
Don't know about LDA Tower, have'nt been to the site.
pakboy May 10th, 2006, 02:35 AM pc has had legal problems but now they have bidded for the services international hotel, lets hope they win it.
as for falettis project which was won by 4b marketing is having alot of troubles, i think its more of a fiancial problem, 4b was never ment to build a project there, they are just a small medicine company, they were just suppose to manage the project, the investors were the world famous ING Group of london, they were suppose to invest $250 million i guess they backed out and prices of construction have really raised, that $250 million would probly be $400 million today, plus they allready demolitied the old site i heard so there nothing there except rubble and the room which quid stayed in.
X-entric May 10th, 2006, 06:22 AM There is another news article in Daily Times and Dawn about new EOI invited for Falettis project, what is going on guys? ANYone knows the fact? I thought that land was sold to this company for upwards of 1billion Rs or so....and now they have invited new EOI(expression of interest)
I think Pakboy is right, the original company 3 or 4b whatever it was want able to muster up the huge sum.Why do they bid when they cant get the money? idiots.
Tagga May 10th, 2006, 08:36 PM 4B Marketing is obviously a "marketing" company, it did pay 1.21bn rupees for Faletti and now they are inviting EOIs from different companies so that they can sell/lease them the land, that 1.21bn land would probably sell for 2bn today, so I am not surprised at all if they are inviting EOIs that is what they are suppose to do.
Can anybody confirm highrise laws on mall road, I remember going through an article that said that LHC has legalised highrise buildings on Mall road.
pakboy May 11th, 2006, 01:32 PM EOIS are for sevices international hotel not falettis hotel.
Tagga May 11th, 2006, 09:37 PM EOIS are for sevices international hotel not falettis hotel.
I know, I was just clearing a point about 4B Marketing.
Huma May 14th, 2006, 11:36 AM If Mian Amir has permitted highrise on Mall Road at the site of Serv. Intnl.then whats wrong with PC Tower that is already well designed and planned 4 to years ?
cntower May 14th, 2006, 01:10 PM read the previous posts... ^
X-entric May 15th, 2006, 08:23 AM Thanks Tagga.... for clarifying the 4B story a bit.but when will this new Falettis or Services international be constructed? its been almost 2 years since 4 b bought that piece of land
Tagga May 15th, 2006, 08:42 AM Thanks Tagga.... for clarifying the 4B story a bit.but when will this new Falettis or Services international be constructed? its been almost 2 years since 4 b bought that piece of land
Faletti and Services are different projects.
Services project is a new project, 9 companies have shown interest in the project and the Govt. will sell the project very soon.
About Faletti I have no Idea, some say that the investor who bought the land through 4B was arab some say it was ING group but nothing is confirmed, One thing is confirmed though 4B Group did pay 1.21bn rupees and they certainly are planning something.
pakboy May 15th, 2006, 03:13 PM it depends on who buys the ISH, if its hashoo group or bahria town we could see consturction start in a month or 2 but if its textile firm or some other business group they can take longgggggggg.
PakiDoperz May 15th, 2006, 04:31 PM i a gree with pakboy
Tagga May 15th, 2006, 08:17 PM it depends on who buys the ISH, if its hashoo group or bahria town we could see consturction start in a month or 2 but if its textile firm or some other business group they can take longgggggggg.
There is a compulsion this time around, any company that buys the land will have to complete the hotel in a particular time frame. I know it was the same with Faletti but it had other problems, this time the company will have to finish the project in time.
malpensa May 15th, 2006, 10:13 PM who ever buys it shall complete their project with 20 years isnt that the way things work in pak or am i wrong? for example the new islamabad airport was announced in Jan...................... of 1996!!!!!!!!
Huma May 17th, 2006, 05:27 PM One thing is surprising. Last july. Governor Khalid Maqbool attended briefing by NESPAK in their office about Parcoo Tower. All the newspapers gave pics of governor with the model of The building set in Nespak Office. Nespak have detailes about their every past, present and future projects on their site. But, there isnt any clue of Parco Tower in their Prjects or news. Can anybody get information about the future of Paro Tower? One good news is , at last, we have got Alamgr Tower Adds in newspapers. Yesday I saw a full page add in Karachi Dawn and a half page in Karachi Jang. So atleast one tallest is near underway.Cause there isnt any 31 story yet in Pak

Submitting plans to LDA for approval hmm.... this is from July 2005
Has anybody been to Egerton Road? Who knows the project may already be underway. I don't even know where Egerton Road is.
huit May 17th, 2006, 11:59 PM I saw an Ad couple of days back inviting EoIs from construction companies for NIIA - that's New Islamabad International Airport.
X-entric May 18th, 2006, 10:24 PM which means..........that PARCO tower is not yet a dead project.
what do you think tagga?
pakboy May 18th, 2006, 11:11 PM no projects are dead, they just get delayed, its a very common word in pakistan/
Tagga May 19th, 2006, 12:22 AM which means..........that PARCO tower is not yet a dead project.
what do you think tagga?
I've never been to Egerton Road neither do I know about the exact location, so nothing can be said until one sees the site.
huit May 19th, 2006, 09:43 AM ^ Have you never gone any where near Holiday Inn, Lahore? or Aiwan-e-Iqbal? or LDA Plaza? or PIA Regional HQ? or Falletis? These are all on Egerton Rd.
Tagga May 19th, 2006, 08:43 PM ^^ Nope :D, I don't go out very often.
Tagga May 29th, 2006, 05:58 AM Here are some details, PARCO Tower was supposed to be build by a JV company led by PARCO called OWNER DEVELOPMENT INITIATIVE on its plot adjacent to Transport House on Egerton Road.
huit May 29th, 2006, 10:18 PM ...and?? what happened then?
Tagga May 29th, 2006, 10:44 PM Dunno, nothing can be said without observing the site. The company was serious, they even submitted a plan to LDA for approval.
Huma May 31st, 2006, 04:16 PM But, I vidited Lahore in January. There isnt any vacant site on Rgherton Road. Three builds were under construction. 1 by Shaheen Foundation, 1 by Pasco another by a private company. Where will the Parco site? its a huge building requiring a reasonable size plot
Khuree June 8th, 2006, 09:22 PM http://i79.photobucket.com/albums/j151/KHUREE/Parco.jpg
As a major contribution to the provincial government's plan for transforming Lahore into a regional commercial hub, PARCO is soon to embark on yet another massive project. It intends to construct a 35-storey Business Complex, which will be the tallest building in Pakistan .
The high-rise building will be constructed in a joint venture at a plot measuring 7,000 sq. yds.
It will be a centrally air-conditioned, state-of-the-art building with amenities comparable to the best in the world. The Complex will comprise of an Office Tower , Shopping Mall, Business Centre, Corporate Suites, Cineplex, Restaurants, Coffee Shops, Atrium, Basement Parking, etc.
The approximate covered area of the proposed building is 425,000 sq. ft.
The joint venture with PARCO in the lead is currently in the process of evaluating applications received in response to the advertisement for pre-qualification of contractors/firms for construction of this gigantic complex.

PakiDoperz June 9th, 2006, 06:39 AM well i am giving my opinion it may had happened like that.. iam jst imagining it. the parco is also managed by abu dhabi groups and Zayed complex is also financed and managed by abu dhabi group; parco tower was also joint venture between punjab goverment and dhabi gropu and zayed one is also a joint venture may be they have shifted the site and came up with new proposal as zayed center it may be the case.
Stonned_Immaculate September 14th, 2006, 09:54 AM any update on this??
safe_blood October 17th, 2007, 02:25 AM any idea what happened with this, news is still on there wesite
Techno-Architect October 20th, 2007, 02:19 AM ask the developers what they are upto.....
