Yes, that part of Chennai does have some European styled buildings, it is called Broadway. There is another building in the same area which was the old headquarters of the HSBC in Chennai.

I love the picture of the Police HQ. They could do with some Gulmohar trees there to make it look even better, like the CMDA building.

Madras is indeed like a mix between Europe and old India. I wonder myself how India will have seen without British dominance.

^^ I guess as time passes by, more and more European style architecture would give way to something modern and you'd be able to see India without much of British influence.
