Very interesting pictures.

But those people with the red blood looking stuff all over them were kind of weird. I would be afraid to sit by them, much less take a picture of them. :P They looked like they've been eating people or are vampires, as a matter of fact, the girl looked like she wanted to eat you.

The top photo is not Evanston. It's the northbound platform of the Howard L station just within the Chicago city limits, where the Red, Purple, and Yellow lines all meet. The Purple line leaves from here and goes north into Evanston.

For real!

Wow! As a resident of Chicago for 24 years I sure didn't know that! All those lines meet at Howard also? Dude, like Chicago is a friggin big city mannnnn! Damn!

I also just now found out that there are some pics of the East Village and the West Loop in this set being passed off as Ukranian Village or part of Westtown. I'm flabbergasted. I'm sure these are all facts the general non-Chicago populace would give a fuck about. I'm sorry for misleading you all!

First of all, if you are going to represent our city to folks who don't live here, given that you've gone to all the trouble to take the pictures, it seems silly that you wouldn't bother to try to caption them correctly.

More to the point (and see how I can make a point without cursing? amazing ability, right? maybe you can make this a goal, too?), SkyscraperCity is a resource used by thousands of very serious photo bloggers and photo essayists. If you don't want to accurately caption your photos, you're wasting everyone else's time and--yes--being misleading.

Oh, and finally, seeing as I'm a good old boy from Brooklyn, if you said that crap to my face instead of on an online bulleting board, you'd be flattened by now.

N-i-g-g-a please. You lucky I captioned these shits at all. And btw, Save that NYC bullshit for your friends. I don't give a goddamn where you from, yo hood ain't harder then mine. Threatening folks over the internet don't give you brownie points. I been in fights all my life, grew up down the street from the Taylors out south, moved up to Rogers Park, got into with the Kings, almost joined the Mo's, got rolled on by CVL's in Evanston, Why the hell would you think I would care about some cat from out of town, or in town threatening me?

So stay mad, threaten me some more, but unless you physically enter my realm and lay hands on me, you might as well be speaking jibberish. I'm not making any effort to meet you, this aint the dating game. Listen to some Marvin Gaye.

hahahahahhahaha, you cats always kill me, trying to scare cats with your hard ass stories, because you think that because you've been through shit, the rest of the world hasn't. Insecurity.

I think its kind of funny that people say "Im from Brooklyn (or NYC), Ill beat your ass". As if being from NYC all of a sudden gives you some super powers in a fist fight. Ill bet there are some dudes in the sticks of Alabama that can beat the living shit out of NYC residents.

When it comes to fights, it doesn't matter where in the hell you live or come from. Some might have more experience fighting, but that is it.

I repeat, you have such a way with English. Some folks on here told me I shouldn't have gotten annoyed at your extraordinarily obnoxious response to my simple and well-meaning posting that one of your photos was miscaptioned because you're really "a very intelligent person."

Hmm, still looking for the evidence. Doubt it's forthcoming.

goonsta
July 10th, 2005, 01:19 AM
Intelligence has nothing to with use of verbose language, the corellation between the two is not apparent, nor is it self-evident, but since you want to play that game, I can play also. I have "a way with English" because I'm billingual in English and Ebonics. Vague self-aggrandizement, hypocrisy, and floundering attempts at insults seem to be your idiosyncrasies.

I'm admiring your rhetoric. I'm admiring at how your attempts to mention your upbringing in Brooklyn suddenly becomes a non-isssue in this thread, but yet you get on the defensive and try to rework the entire argument by bring up the issue of what you percieve as my intelligence level, all because you couldn't intimidate me with your Brooklyn chest-thumping. You opened up Pandora's box with that comment, but yet you are dodging the consequences by derailing it, and pretending to ignore what you stated earlier.

Let us analyze the evidence at hand:

Oh, and finally, seeing as I'm a good old boy from Brooklyn, if you said that crap to my face instead of on an online bulleting board, you'd be flattened by now.

In the face of this, I'm supposed to bow to your superior intellect, in which you seemed to casually throw out the window above? The use of brawn in an argument is above and far beyond a sign of unrestrained stupidity, moreso than sarcasm, foul language or anger. I fail to see how a "Good ole boy" from Brooklyn flattening me will bring any sort of intelligent reaction from me, or why I should even try to mold your perception of me by adhering to the conduct of someone who is able to speak without resorting to E-violence. Once you cross that line, I have no qualms crossing it with you. All respect will get thrown out the window, all hesitations become null and void, a fight or flight reaction takes over and its all fair game muthafucka. Do the same thing to someone on the streets of any city, Brooklyn Good Ole Boy, and you will see a similar reaction. Now what.

Yeah, its been like that for a long time. I know from personal experience from being at a lot of rap shows around Chicago. I saw a dude get the shit stomped out of him for popping off at the mouth, disrespecting Chicago in his show. 5 cats met him outside the door seconds later I saw fists, feet, and a chain with a padlock being thrown. All I could do was shrug.

Its gotten so bad that if you say you are from NYC in a lot of cities, you will just get jumped for the hell of it. Especially LA and cities in the South. Hell, people in Omaha will stomp the shit out you. There is really nothing nowadays that can intimidate people, not even being a Police officer, especially if people know they have guns, its either you or them.

Blacks and hispanics don't believe in bathing suits.

Also if you are black, you seem to be ignorant as hell saying stupid things such as the quote above, why would you sell your race short in order to humor a few white or racially otherwise, folks on an internet message board? Thats not gangsta.

I don't want to be gangsta.

I don't hang out in movie theatres, I see a movie and go. I hang out in local underground hip hop events.I am black, not mixed. Perhaps if my Italian father had claimed me as a child, I would say otherwise, but all my family is black as I. I care not about being "cool". I'm not thug life, nor does my material reflect it. In fact, my material is what most would consider "conscious rap". Here's my first single:

Guidance suggested, the presence of tightest get blessed with
the finest of rhymin perfected, a liscense eclectic to righteous connected
to cyphers and methods that heighten the message
fight to the death and unite to correct it,
to represent rap music right to the essence
you been knew the business, I'm cultured and gifted
my flow is just vicious, lord is my witness
I'm hopin to get in by vocals and rhythms
that total ya system and blow through ya conscious
holdin a promise, respect the streets....to change
we connect with beats............you lame
if you thinkin the purpose of lyrics
is faking and frontin with murderous gimmicks
this aint our fate to just disinegrate
so pick up your plate and get ready to take

http://www.streetsandsoul.com/02%20-%20to%20the%20south%20side.mp3

lets talk about that phrase ***** and its multitude of uses. One of its uses is strip a person of all their ego, and confront them on a person to person level, hence the term ***** please. Its a roundabout way of bringing someone down to Earth that has their head up in the clouds. By using that term, you are basically telling someone "you are no better than me". Perhaps the phrase should be barred from language, but as far as selling the culture short, I don't agree. Chapelle uses it to humour his mostly white audience, and Common uses it within his mostly intelligent black audience. My own mother endearingly refers to me as "Lil *****".

My comment on bathing suits was a joke. Plain and simple.

Censorship is a bitch too.

My posse are all successful and I am a college student. Two of my friends live in apartments in Rogers Park, another one near Logan Square, and the other remaining one near Gary. I'm the only one in Evanston. What happened in the past was the past, however, it defines who I am and it makes me all the more resilient to succeed when others would give up, and it gives me the ability to bust people out when they try to play that tough guy card.

So perhaps you misread my autobiography, but since you know so much about me and are a part of my fan club, here's an autograph for you:
