I prefer meeting later in the month. you mean sometime between Dec 20 something and before Jan 2? don't worry too much hkskyline, we are more than happy to meet w/o your presense. just kidding. HKT December 11th, 2006, 06:54 AM so we now have ?=haven't reply yet, or not sure forumer that lives in hk: HKT?, Aboveday, InitialD18(steve)?, hkskyline, Kaitak747, hongkongdisneyland forumer going back to hk: myself (12/18-1/10), Rachmaninov(keith)(12/13-1/4), superchan7 (12/18-12/30), trueapprentice (Sam)(12/16-?) HSBC: available before 12/12 WANCH: available before 12/18 or after 1/6 So i guess the plan is you guys can meet up once before 12/18 with WANCH first? and then superchan7 and myself can join in after 12/18 and before 12/30. I was thinking if we should go to one of the restaurants in One Peking Road(and face the harbour). I wanted to get there last year, but didn't have time. We can also do some hiking, skyscraper tour, watching light show, or simply taking pics of hk girls around...hehe, just kidding. Sounds like it will be a big turnout this year...the biggest turnout of HKer nerd from overseas that is...you know i am joking. so looks like the most preferable date for the meet up can be between 12/19 and 12/30, we can meet more than one time. There could be one for 12/17 to accommandate WANCH, and trueapprentice is back at 12/16. If anymore forumer want to join us, please at least post your preferable dates here. Should be ok hkskyline December 11th, 2006, 08:32 AM you mean sometime between Dec 20 something and before Jan 2? don't worry too much hkskyline, we are more than happy to meet w/o your presense. just kidding.I'll see when is everyone else available and I'll try to work around that schedule. HKT April 2nd, 2007, 05:57 PM wish i could have joined. why does the science park look quite empty, what is that spiral staircase? Yup, as shown on pics, that is the 香港回歸紀念塔~ HKT April 2nd, 2007, 05:59 PM I actually don't know why its so empty, it's like that everytime I pass by there, only some tour groups (?) and kids riding bikes going to the 7-11 there to buy drinks and snacks. It's not empty ga! One of my friend works and lives there in the service apartment. Maybe because of the weekend, you'd see more kids and tour groups than others. There were also a lot of site workers having their lunch in the food court. Kaitak747 April 2nd, 2007, 06:59 PM Thanks HKT for organizing (^o^) hkskyline September 8th, 2007, 09:20 AM Last Monday, September 3rd, Airbus showcased its A380 to the Asian Aerospace International Expo and Congress 2007, held in Hong Kong for the first time. The plane performed two fly-bys across Victoria Harbour at low altitudes. So we organized a forum meet early that morning to see this plane for ourselves. 1. Beautiful skies greeted curious onlookers at the Tsim Sha Tsui waterfront. http://www.globalphotos.org/hongkong/20070903/IMG_0633.jpg http://www.globalphotos.org/hongkong/20070903/IMG_0634.jpg http://www.globalphotos.org/hongkong/20070903/IMG_0636.jpg http://www.globalphotos.org/hongkong/20070903/IMG_0639.jpg http://www.globalphotos.org/hongkong/20070903/IMG_0640.jpg 6. New Years for this side of the earth in 30 minutes. hkskyline January 1st, 2008, 07:28 AM W Kowloon Cultural District had plenty of open spots for a full view of the fireworks even half an hour before the show began. Let's say it's an improvement lol superchan7 January 7th, 2008, 07:28 AM In fact I'm surprised they made such a big bash for the western new year. chisinchai January 7th, 2008, 08:06 AM I was at RED in IFC - right under the fireworks. how did it feel? I heard that taipei101 will not put on fireworks anymore, because people inside that building feels like it will collpase. ............i m dissappointed by the IFC fireworks... i thought it could match taipei 101's frieworks.. oh well..., i guess they'll spend more on the CNY one. maybe they think that Chinese New Year is much more important. _00_deathscar January 7th, 2008, 12:55 PM how did it feel? I heard that taipei101 will not put on fireworks anymore, because people inside that building feels like it will collpase. Nothing of the sort. The first few (very basic) fireworks got an "ooh-aah" kind of reaction, then everyone got bored before the finale, which to be fair was pretty decent (the fireworks shooting off the sides). Didn't feel any rumbling or collapsing feeling. hkskyline June 12th, 2008, 11:34 AM June 2008 Forum Meet As we have an Australian forumer in town soon, let's plan a dinner on a weeknight next week + an outing next weekend (June 21/22). I have contacted a few of you already offline, but to those who haven't received my messages, want to join us? Any suggestions on the outing? We can do a day in town and another day outside HK. How about Macau or Guangzhou? hkskyline June 19th, 2008, 07:30 PM June 2008 Forum Meet - Thanks for Coming Thanks for the large turnout at the forum meet last night amidst the driving rain.
