seems that most ppl will be around in hk during early august... so... :) i've spoken to rach + initial.... and we think it'd be great to organize the forumers' meet-up thing on 12 August.

i guess most would be able to come cos it'll be a friday night!

I can give a definitive answer if there is a definite date. I cannot go on certain days due to family business and a possible trip to Taiwan. Even these dates have not been set but I will try to plan around this event. We could separate into two tours if we have too many people, haha.

The helicopter used in helihongkong is a 6-seater.
And the one from heliservices is a 5-seater.

I was thinking to take some photos at nite (like right after sunset), and maybe one in daytime. Depending on your preference, we probably can have two flights.
The Night tour package from helihongkong is Sat only, meaning there would not be as much lights in buildings compared to weekday nite. The one from heliservices doesn't mention whether night operation is allowed. I will call both companies and see what options we have.

If we do nite tour, we need to pick non-holiday to get more building lights. And you may need SLR with good lens etc to get good nite shots, except if you are taking video only.

in terms of heli tour, i have observed in the last couple of days that whatever object is backlighted, it would look hazy (basically whenever u look toward the south like HK island from kowloon). I personally think night looks clear is any direction. So i persoonly prefer right after sunset where light is still plenty, and u still have the sunset and no hazy effect.

So I have consulted some of the forumers and what I am suggesting, is as follows:

Cantonese meeting - Monday 24/7 at Tsim Sha Tsui (at around 7pm)
English meeting - Wednesday 26/7 at Tsim Sha Tsui (at around 7pm)

I hear that some of us won't be comfortable speaking in English all the time (to let forumers that do not understand Cantonese know what is going on), and obviously those who can't understand Cantonese will not be comfortable knowing nothing about what's going on. Please be reminded that this has nothing to do with discrimination or whatsoever!!!!! English-speaking forumers don't worry - I myself will try my best to attend both, if no changes are suggested to the above time and venues. :) And I know that a few of us are happy with speaking in English.

So guys, any other suggestions? Please kindly post here which meeting(s) you are planning to attend. It would also be nice if you don't mind messaging me your mobile numbers. ;)
