North Sydney is Sydney's second largest CBD after the Sydney CBD. It is the fifth largest CBD in Australia too! It also happens to have a world class skyline

So how good is North Sydney's skyline

I'll let you decide.

A little too many neon lights at night for my liking. Its cool how North Sydney is on a hill so the buildings look a lot taller.

But I'll take Sydney's main CBD on the other side of the bridge thanks.

True, but until you're amidst it, it is really a tall satellite CBD of Sydney's. Also quite dense.

Erm......I've always rated Canary Wharf with the city when it comes to LOndon. I always rate downtown along with midtown when rating New York.

So why are we rating this seperate from the rest of sydney?

North Sydney is not part of Sydney City Council, therefore not officially part of the Sydney CBD. But who knows, We probebly should be looking at the Sydney Skyline including Nth Sydney.

SydneyDude, I personally always include North Sydney when looking at the over all image of the skyline of Sydney and why wouldnt ya. Its fantastic how you can have two gatherings of buildings on opposite sides of the bridge.

Ok technically it may not be part of the Sydney City council, but people overseas arent gonna know that. And anyhow, thats only splitting at hairs.

Think it can be called own sky line
While connected to Sydney CDB has it own influences and styles
Very closely related and draws on services the same area of Greater Sydney
But for me is its own sky line due fact Harbour is across it
Maybe we need to Define Sydney Skyline as the City or CBD ! Skyline
As Sydney Metro has a few with the Cross, Bondi, North Sydney and more if you winden your scope.

It's nice for a suburb. 'think that it should be rated in conjunction eith Sydney tho. It's better than any US suburb (that i have seen)

Actually, I think North Sydney should be counted as part of Sydney city, and the 2nd largest CBD in Greater Sydney area is Parramatta

One of my favorite non core skylines, density, some decent size buildings that aren't too tall so as to distort the skyline, and the setting on the harbor and the hills. Looks great from any direction. A perfect 10!

Gave it a "5"
It's one of those satellite cities that just doesn't compare to the main CBD, kinda like Oakland or Century City. The buildings aren't very tall and have little character. My fav would be the AAMI building, but it's still pretty short. The main thing going for it is the magnificant harbour. Still love Sydney with all my heart, but as far as skylines go, North Sydney is nothing special.

Nice. I lived just outside of the North Sydney city centre for half a year when I was like 5 years old. I can remember going to the 3 or 4 story mcdonalds in north sydney like all the time. That was the most awesome mcdonalds in the world back then to me. The playplace was on the roof. It was unreal haha.

Um why are you comparing it to Sydney City and not evaluating it independently? It is often lumped in the Sydney's main CBD in votes as part of the the entire skyline. People seem able to vote on each city independently, you should be voting on what it is and how well it does it rather than comparing it with a much larger CBD than restricts it's growth as a separate CBD.

Hi dumb, dumber and dumbest. Next time you post a stupid and ill-informed comment try growing a brain first.

Excuse me but why are you questioning me on when i took my photo? I would say it's none of your damn business. Then you have the audacity to intimate there is smog in that image when it's plainly grey rain clouds and morning mist.

BTW you question the sunlight,are you just stupid or can't you see the reflection of the sun on Optus Tower? It was taken at 6am at sunrise and no it's NOT smog in the image. The sun is defintely blazing over the horizon reflected brilliantly. It was coming up from behind me where i was standing at Bradleys Head/Athol Bay, Mosman. You can even see the reflection streaking along the water.
