Indeed not very interesting, very 'cold' architecture. However, i love glass so i'll reward it with an 7.5/10

I like it, it's just a glassy box, but looks interesting because of the horizontal lines. 8,5/10

this building is blocky, but yet still soars beautifully. very good proportions (as the case with most of the pelli skyscrapers), but it has sort of a blank look to it...

that antenna made me deduct .5 points.

It looks great in person. The pics don't give justice to the shinyness of the glass. If you were stoned you would need a change of underwear.

But the antenna sucks.

Pelli has designed much better looking buildings. But the height is quite good and it adds to the skyline, especially when viewed from Queen and Roosevelt Island.

7.5/10 - good use of set backs, and a nice shiny-shiny glass facade that contrasts nicely with the spandrels

BUT

Tis a bit blocky, turning the spandrels into "racing stripe" mullions zipping up the tower would make it more soaring, and ..And, oh yeah, as someone else here said - .5 off for the flat rool and the stupid little antenna...

It's high and modern but not conspicuous.

I was going to give it an 8 because I like it when a building has a big impact on the skyline. I gave it an 8.5 because it does a little and in NYC that is not easy.

i think its post modern minimalism is perfect for where it is situated.
you may think its boring, but it contrasts with the surrounding buildings in such an interesting way. you have to think about that when you rate any NY skyscraper because of the crowdedness of the skyline.

It's clean looking and the glass seems to be of high quality. It's nice to see a Pelli tower that isn't a cut and paste job. Mind you some of those I like too. It's nice to see some variety, though. 8/10

The facade and setbacks are somewhat appealing. But, overall, it's a pretty boring design. What is going on with the antenna? It looks ridiculous. Pelli can certainly do better than this.

The design is elegant, and for a skyscraper being that tall, it suits very much for that height, without the extreme design like the Petronas Towers has. Besides, it is an average looking building, something that I don't go wow for, but it is still attractive in my eyes. 5/10

Having witness its growth from the beginning, I see the Bloomberg Tower as kind of my own tower, and it's a 10 to me, bias and all :D
It's a great tower, that looks great any time of day, and is amazing at night with its great glass reflecting the surroundings.
You have to see it to believe how well it fits in the skyline.
And itself the tower is high-class, well shapen and has great setbacks, not to mention the base is just as good as the rest.

A very boxy tower, but it fits well into the NY skyline, and its nice and glassy which I like 8.5/10

Some interesting aspects (pattern of setbacks; horizontal lines), but not big enough to stand out on form alone (contrast Sears Tower, WTC Twin Towers, John Hancock Center, and heck--even the Egyptian pyramids!). --If this building were the same shape but 1500 feet tall, I'd love it.
