Hidden Dragon July 13th, 2005, 08:07 AM I don't like the red color. Silver color is OK for me.
Mr. T July 13th, 2005, 04:53 PM Wow it looks great. I really like the design.
interpol July 13th, 2005, 05:15 PM Nanjing isn't hosting/hosted an Olympic Games, so whats with the name?
A little bit lame, if you ask me.

aleph_null July 14th, 2005, 06:41 AM It screams: “Communism Rocks!”
The design itself isn’t bad, but the red color is hideous.
Mephisto July 17th, 2005, 10:56 AM Telstra with red thingies
Certainly does look a lot like that.
Þróndeimr July 17th, 2005, 11:11 AM Greatly designed stadiums and all other centres in the olympic park.

Same goes to Seville and Istanbul's Olympic stadiums :|
The red things are ugly

Many large cities have "Olympic" facilities, many of these cities have not hosted the Olympics. The facilities are used for training, events, and to incite athleticism throughout the city. You seem a bit lame to me. :bash:

Isn't it also due to some of these cities having had bids in on the olympics? I think that the Atatürk Olympic Stadium in Istanbul (or miles outside) was build to support a Turkish bid.
I kind of like the big red arches. They're very monumental and sticks out like a sore thumb, an not totally unesthetic sore thumb. It does look a bit like Telstra underneath though.
2005 July 26th, 2005, 01:33 PM Looks very impressive but I'm really not liking that red.
jeicow July 26th, 2005, 03:06 PM I gotta say that the red is different. No other stadium that I know has such a vibrant colour and I think that it gives it it's own personality in a way.
Theogr July 26th, 2005, 03:45 PM Is it real?
It looks more like a rendering to me!
jeicow July 26th, 2005, 07:27 PM It was just finished and the official opening day on Tuesday, July 12, 2005.

Thanks. I am not sure if I like it or not. As other people have said the red colour is a bit too much (a bit tacky). I think in this case less would be more.
Madman July 27th, 2005, 01:54 PM I think the problem is that the red looks like an afterthought. If they had say clad the whole stadium under the arches as red i think it would have been more convincing.

yep...very similar
In fact, both we designed by HOK Sport, hence the comparisons.
RFonline September 4th, 2005, 11:00 AM I don't like the red color. Silver color is OK for me.
vertigosufferer September 4th, 2005, 11:50 AM Mmmm...note sure the Red is the right colour. Even a silvery blue colour would have been okay, or black. The Red doesn't fit with the rest of the stadium. Nice facilities there though ;)
spyguy September 5th, 2005, 03:06 AM I actually like the red. It's distinctive and I think it goes well. It's not the typical and boring all silver/glass stadium.

AATAATAATAAT April 9th, 2008, 09:12 AM Maybe a lot of people don't know where Nanjing is. It's about 300km north to shanghai. In Chinese, Nanjing means "South Capital"(Beijing means North Capital), so you can imagine it is a very important city in Chinese long history.
The capacity of the stadium is 60,000.
