I think a lot of people look at 'Three Graces' but focus on the Liver Building, and forget to look at the Port of Liverpool building. I know I used to!

Could someone correct me if i'm wrong, but wasn't the Port of Liverpool Building initially designed to be a candidate for the Anglican Cathedral, but it lost to the present Liverpool Cathedral design. The Council liked the design so much that they built it anyway? If its true it just shows the enormous wealth the city had at the turn of the last century.

I've heard that before - (the story about the POL building being a rejected design for the cathedral) - I think the guide on the Duck Tour amphibious bus thing said it when I went round on that thing one time. However, something about it doesn't ring true to me and my suspicion is that it's one of these urban legends that somehow gets repeated so often it starts to seem true. I have no evidence for this though, so anyone who knows better, feel free to prove me wrong!

Did you notice that the Juventus fans said ' Your fans are as ugly as Camilla' ? There are good looking women in this city, no doubt about that but have you ever noticed when the camera pans over the crowd at Anfield they always seem to pick out the ugliest bunch ? This is so true and consistent it is amazing. Just look at the crowd shots next time you see the Liverpool game and you will see that I am right.

i have noticed that too they zoom in on the nerdiest looking fan in the ground.

I think the pinacle was that goofy fella with rotten teeth when Baros got the last goal against Leverkusen. He was one ugly fella. We should tip off the TV stations to pick out the good looking people in the crowd.
