Fahad Al Salem Street Master Plan-Kuwait City

Master Plan for one mile of Kuwait historic Main Street, including and a million square feet of residential, office, and retail uses. The objective was to provide a common physical and regulatory framework to stimulate redevelopment of this important civic boulevard. The design included land use designations, traffic re-circulation, parking, building massing, public open space planning, pedestrian circulation systems and streetscape including landscaping, parking, lighting, fountains and street furniture.

hey, i had a real old thread of these project.. !! I saw it about a year ago and no prograss towards it has been mentioned yet !!

Im quite sure that this project will start soon. Yes, it has been taken into consideration for quite some time, but I think it was approved by the parliament many weeks earlier. If not, then approval will resume on the coming parliamentary season (September 2005).

As for the project, I really like it and I personally think it should be backed up with support. Not only will it open job opportunities, but it will also increase the re-development of Kuwait city. :)

So far we have a similar boulevard in Salmiya. I think you know which street Im talking about (you know - the one which has Al-Fanar, Marina Mall and the Wataniya complex). ;)

COOL street. It kind of looks like orchard street in singapore or Champs Elysses in Paris. I heard they are going to make similar project in Al Sadd in Qatar but that will never happen! I guess this is where all the markat or brand names will be...

yeah ... these type of projects can never work in kuwait .. this project needs someone to finance it .. no one will ever do that ... kuwait is simply useless .. sudan is much better
