I reckon the blue's of the habour water have been tweaked - The shadow under the Gladesville Bridge in the last pic is all wrong and both AMP and GPT look like they've been retouched in the first pic.

That said - pretting stunning views but!

OMG, they are awesome!!!

I thought I was gonna get the same calender but on second thoughts, buying 2006 calender in July is a bit too early, isn't it? What the hell, I'll get it anyways.

i'd imagine most asians would be impressed with sydney or australian city's, there's room,green-nature all over the place, and well 1st class develpoed world everything, where as asia is quite dense, dirty, conrete little roomish, so yeah, lets not take nature and suburbia for granted ay ;)

I've never seen AMP that particular shade of puke green before. It really sticks out in that first pic. But magnificent pics, thanks Cul.

Great photos. What I would do to get in a helicopter all day and take photos around Sydney. The best view I've had was coming in to Sydney from Adelaide on a beautiful sunny day. Flew over the Royal National park and Botany Bay. Left the view of Adelaide on take of for dead. Throw in the Hawkesbury river, what city could possibly beat us

not only one of the most beautiful settings of any city in the world, but a kick arse group of skyline's dotted all around the place with the huge CBD smack in the middle, which makes the city look truly massive. Homebush looks great too.

just a few questions. I've highlighted the east of the picture and was wondering what suburbs lie in these circles. Looks like Kings Cross on the right, Bondi Junction towards the top and, is it Rose Bay, Double Bay, Watson's Bay near the waterside? I've never noticed that patch of high rise before.

From left to right ..

Darling Point, Bondi Junction and hmm KingsCross/DarlingHurst (Kings Cross/Potts Point is really more to the left) and that big white tower is the Horizon in Darlinghurst.

Darling Point. Looks like mostly residential or Hotels I guess? I'll have to have a closer look. Thanks for clearing that up

Yep, georgeous but Rio is also pretty spectacular - flying into the city airport there was like gliding into Atlantis. Very atmospheric.

Your pics and the pics you find and post are always great Culwulla!

I can't believe how long the skyline is when the Sydney. Milsons Point, North Sydney and St Leonards skylines are viewed from a distance. I understand why you were in some other thread claiming Sydney had a very long skyline - but still, it's only very visible when viewed from the west and from a largish distance...Anyway, here's the pic with the long skyline!

Jeepstar you should go on the rooftop of your office building and take photos. It'd be a great view from there.

thanks for bumping this one up, i hadn't seen it before. spectacular! sydney is massive when you follow the skylines both north out through milsons point, north sydney, st leonards and onto chatswood and also east out through darlinghurst/kings cross, darling point and bondi junction. yet with all this mass of skyscrapers it is still so green and blue from the mass of parks and waterways. i'm glad most of those islands are beginning to open up to the public. beautiful spots!

*yay*

Cul,

Thanks for those shots, I do love my new adopted home in Melbourne but ABSOLUTELY NOTHING beats Sydney. I don't care what anyone says, I have been to all the major cities in the world but ABSOLUTELY NOTHING beats Sydney hands down.

I'm looking forward to coming home in the next few weeks.
