Belfast architects, Povall Worthington are working on two new high-rise schemes for their home city in Northern Ireland.
The first will stand on Dalton Street bounded to the north by Middlepath Street with Bridge End running to the south. This whole area of Belfast is presently dominated by car parks and under utilized plots of land that will make ripe regeneration opportunities for developers looking at building in the eastern quarter.
Reaching 18 floors tall, the largely residential proposals will see 177 new apartments built with a 1.1 apartment / parking ratio and a ground floor health club replacing the present two storey building that occupies the site.
The second scheme Povall Worthington is working on is at Bridge End. This twin tower project will have 175 apartments spread over both blocks with connections between the two via a ground level podium that will be topped by a large roof garden. At ground level will be a number of retail and restaurant outlets to animate the street level and breathe some life into what is currently a dead area.
These twin towers will also be located on the southern side of Middlepath Street with Station Street bounding the western end of the site. The Dalton Street project is situated barely 100 metres to the east whilst Broadway Malyan has planned a tower to stand directly opposite Bridge End on the other side of Station Street.
Povall Worthington has had planning applications recently been filed with Belfast City Council for both projects
