I'm pretty sure Riga will dominate the construction among the Baltic cities soon :yes:

I should admit6 that once i was a bit sceptical about Vilnius Gate project but now it looks very nice; it perfectly fils emptines between national library and parliament building creating wonderful urban element.

I like Vilnius Gates too. Initially it seemed too commieblockish but the project is sophisticated, fine. The rendering of that 7-floorer looks very fine.
Regarding construction activity of highrises - Vilnius still is pretty much ahead of Riga, that' s easy to see.

quite alot of construction in Vilnius, atm, not as much as i expected, but still alot :)
and there's a couple of quality projects there too. So, how about projects that will appear after these?

No idea since the new law made quite a mess in construction market :ohno:

At least you can build. Our law has forbidden tall buildings to some extent :(

well build or not, city government has frozen plans for 5 highrises til the master plan comes out (should be out in a couple of months)...

Yeah the construction is not much in Vilnius now. You can call it the end of first wave.
We are left to wait for second one: 2-3 new highrises in NCC, Vyrokas complex in NCC, maybe Stadium/Conference hall (from Fuksas), LitExpo hall, second highrise near Helios. It maybe take a year or two to 'kick in' ;)

There were some talks that in the future possibly there might be more highrises in the location but I haven't heard anything about any possible projects or visions yet.

Of course, that would be good - if architecture would be fine! A bit disappointed about the changes in design of Helios, but still it would be among the best IMHO.

yeah gatis i also noticed that they changed the design and it really took off the cool extras this tower had, and what made it so special! now it kinda seems it will be uniform... and I REALLY hope that they do clad the backend of it! If they let it stay like it is now, concrete it will be hrhhh... ew...

It's hard to judge about glass from such renderings. Personally I like glass of Helios tower, but lets wait - it's not yet finished. ;)
