Las Vegas

DarkFenX July 18th, 2005, 09:49 PM Chicago's looks best then followed by Toronto. The one for Vegas looks ugly short and boxy with the ugly name on top.
TalB July 18th, 2005, 09:56 PM I would have to say that that his Chicago skyscraper is not like anything else he has ever had built.
samsonyuen July 18th, 2005, 10:48 PM TTC reminds me of a glass and steel reworking of the Sears Tower, and TTT reminds me of the Chicago one with a more Toronto look, more brown and red boxiness, like the Scotia Plaza. TTLV looks boring, and if it weren't gold in color, it'd be like any other building anywhere.
STR July 18th, 2005, 11:03 PM I would have to say that that his Chicago skyscraper is not like anything else he has ever had built.
Yeah, it doesn't suck.
Urban Dave July 18th, 2005, 11:33 PM Sorry, I don't like anyone. They could be great architecture projects but are just normal towers. Just high things.
B@dGuYoM July 18th, 2005, 11:37 PM chicago 1st toronto 2nd and 3rd lasvegas
bs_lover_boy July 18th, 2005, 11:42 PM Just by tower itself, I would say Chicago without a doubt. But I voted for Toronto because the building matches the surrounding and in building design, coherence with the surrounding is more difficult than just desiging a building.
malec July 18th, 2005, 11:48 PM Definitely Chicago. For me a matching building isn't always the best option. Adding something new can be good too.
Steely Dan July 19th, 2005, 12:35 AM i vote for chicago. the toronto tower is also nice, but i'm not entirely sold on that 1/4 onion dome top. the vegas one is so predictably "vegas" that it is a visual bore (despite its shimmering golden opulence). most importantly, the chicago tower is the only one of the 3 that is currently under construction, giving it a few extra points.
and this thread needs some better rendering of the chicago tower:

Javi July 19th, 2005, 12:40 AM Chicago is the best
MainDiish July 19th, 2005, 01:11 AM Toronto

Toronto's building does look like the one in Jakarta:
JAKARTA's

Chibcha2k July 19th, 2005, 09:41 AM in the following order:
Chicago, Toronto......and.....Las Vegas
staff July 19th, 2005, 09:45 AM I have to agree - these are just towers which happen to be tall. Nothing special about them really. Trump has got the resources to build architectural spectacular buildings, and all he can come up with is this? The Chicago one is the best Trump project so far though.
NYC2ORDGuy July 19th, 2005, 10:38 AM Chicago's is soaring and modern. Toronto's is a po-mo bore. Las Vegas's is absolutely nothing special.
Travis007 July 19th, 2005, 05:18 PM Chicago wins hands-down.
Trump Toronto is too much of a mish-mash of different architectural styles and it doesn't work for me, and I don't like how it's colour is going to be green. And Trump Las Vegas is nothing special, just like the other Vegas casino and hotels.
Jose Luis July 19th, 2005, 05:25 PM Chicago's trump totally rocks, awesome design, the one in Toronto is also cool and the one in Las Vegas is crap.
Steely Dan July 19th, 2005, 09:46 PM here they are in a side by side comparison

TalB July 19th, 2005, 09:52 PM Please remember that The Donald isn't an architect, so he is not the one who building any of these skyscrapers, he just owns them.
*Jarrod July 19th, 2005, 09:56 PM the one in chicago looks out of place for some reason. i dunno. i really don't like any of them...they're really boring. nothing special about them at all.
but if i have to rank them..
1. chicago
2. toronto
108908080983098340823402384...las vegas
I-275westcoastfl July 20th, 2005, 11:09 AM the las vegas one just looks like another hotel in the city
staff July 20th, 2005, 05:52 PM Talb,
But since he stands for the financial part he should be able to hire architects who can draw something more spectacular than this. It's not that Trump has to save money for his retirement or something. He's got the money.
STR July 20th, 2005, 05:53 PM Just like the last time there was a poll between TTC and TTT, TTC is winning by a 2:1 margin.
Effer July 20th, 2005, 07:32 PM Chicago
Steely Dan July 20th, 2005, 08:48 PM Just like the last time there was a poll between TTC and TTT, TTC is winning by a 2:1 margin.
true, but even more interesting is how not a soul has voted for the vegas one yet. it truly is a forgetable design.
kiwiboy July 20th, 2005, 10:06 PM i like the Toronto one better  even if its not as tall as the Chicago one
besides it will fit perfectly in Toronto's skyline
Trump_87 July 21st, 2005, 06:43 AM im with you^
Mock July 21st, 2005, 12:26 PM ^ yeah, that's exactly what I was thinking. It makes a nice triplet with Scotia and First Canadian Place. :)
A r c h i July 21st, 2005, 01:12 PM Please remember that The Donald isn't an architect, so he is not the one who building any of these skyscrapers, he just owns them.
The Donald tells the architect the sort of building he wants and has a lot of input in the design. But I agree the architects aren't very good. Trump should be comissioning better architects like SOM which he did for Chicago and not Costas Kondylis who do alot of his stuff in NY
Trump_87 July 25th, 2005, 05:04 PM I like Toronto's Trump Tower better, it looks more like an elegant hotel rather than the chicago one which looks like a big, unattractive office building.
Travis007 July 26th, 2005, 11:22 PM The Donald tells the architect the sort of building he wants and has a lot of input in the design. But I agree the architects aren't very good. "Make me a nice building or YOU'RE FIRED!!"
-Donald Trump
:(
But seriously, Trump did not have any input in the design of Trump Toronto. The design by Zeidler was originally planned for 333 Bay street and the main tenant was first Ritz-Carlton and then they pulled out and Trump took over the tower.
huangxiaoli111 July 28th, 2005, 10:19 AM the one in chicago looks too personalism,I really like the sea around the toronto's buiding ,so ,I choose No.2 toronto
punkerz123 August 2nd, 2005, 12:17 AM i love the trump chicago. kinda looks like a modern sears tower. beautiful
Oriolus August 2nd, 2005, 05:03 AM I didn't realise The Donald had so many skyscrapers both built & on the boil. Here's an SSP Diagram of all building with the world 'trump' in it - probably not all are his?
http://skyscraperpage.com/diagrams/?12002893
Some of his other current projects:
Trump Tower Tampa - UC
http://www.condohotelcenter.com/images/condos/trump_tampa.jpg
Trump Royale & Trump Palace - UC
http://www.miamirealestatesource.com/links/images/trumpInternational-location00-mres.jpg
Of the three biggest ones featured in this thread - I like Chicago best.
Bitxofo August 2nd, 2005, 05:29 AM The Chicago one!
;)
snufalufugus August 6th, 2005, 01:17 AM I would have to go with the Chicago tower. The Vegas tower looks very similiar to the Mandalay tower on the south side of the Vegas Strip.
http://db4.*****************/0/513400.jpg
source27 August 6th, 2005, 02:12 AM and maybe just maybe we hope for trump tower 65 floors in ramat gan, israel
but nothing is final (they just want to use his name to draw publicity actually)
sdtj August 6th, 2005, 02:26 AM Chicago, looks great.
sdtj August 6th, 2005, 02:32 AM Look at this and tell me otherwise.......

:eek2:
CrazyCanuck August 7th, 2005, 02:59 AM I like them both, but I will have to wait for both of them to be completed. By looking at the Chi rendering I am lead to believe that the glass will not be as shiny and reflective as in the renderings. The Toronto one will add some green glass to the skyline, but like the Chicago one, it too could turn out not so picture perfect. The Chicago one looks like a very well done 21st century office tower while I think the Toronto one looks more asian with the spire, but the boxiness fits in very well with the surroundings.
