Hard one. I think I will go for Golden Gate but only because it is tall.

This is hard. I've seen both in person. Golden Gate is a tad more impressive.
But as OettingerCroat pointed out, they both suit their city well.

The Brooklyn Bridge is certainly an architectural beauty, but overall the Golden Gate is more dramatic. It's longer and higher. Rathering than spanning a river, it spans the part of San Francisco Bay that opens into the Pacific Ocean. As you cross, if you look east, you see the Bay. And if you look west, you see the endless abyss of the Pacific. Finally, the topography surrounding the Golden Gate is very beautiful.

I like cable structure, its more complex and hard imagination to bring it reality and make it precision every span of bridge....

Oh brother. I love the Brooklyn Bridge but The Golden Gate is more symbolic and longer. It also serves as a gateway bridge.

I think it's better if it's Golden Gate VS. Verrazano Narrows.

Yeah I'm with you. Besides, the Golden Gate does something that I'm pretty sure the other doesn't... It disappears! For those of you whom have never witnessed it, the fog can come in on a clear day and cover the bridge completely in ten minutes. Completely concealing the bridge.

I say Brooklyn due to the revolutionary way it was constructed and in its time period. The man who carried on the idea of his father to construct practically put his life on the line to do it and ended up paralysing himself when refusing to go to the surface for oxygen. His wife carried on his work and did a great job by persuading people for more funding. It's a massive icon.
Golden Gate is brilliant but it wasnt revolutionary as two other bridges were built in the same area around the same time. One of which is much much longer than it.

Brooklyn Bridge is the best. The Golden Gate is so overrated - it's an orange suspension bridge! The Brooklyn Bridge is beautiful, and has so much to it, history, all of it. And it looks so much nicer, the stone is so amazing.

The Golden Gate is more photogenic to me, but the Brooklyn Bridge was an engineering feat as well.

The Akashi Kaikyo!

Seriously, it's difficult to compare the two being from different times. I find it amazing that Roebling thought that a 2,000 foot mainspan would be the maximum and here the entire suspended section of the Brooklyn Bridge (mainspan and both side spans combined at 3,455 feet /1,053 meters total) can fit in between the towers of the Golden Gate Bridge at 4,200 feet / 1,280 meters. To take it a step further... the entire suspended sections of the Golden Gate Bridge (mainspan and both side spans combined at 6,450 feet / 1,966 meters total) can fit between the towers of the Akashi Kaikyo Bridge of 6,532 feet / 1,991 meters. The side spans of the AKB alone are 3,150 feet each - nearly twice the size of the mainspan of the Brooklyn Bridge and over 50% longer than what Roebling thought the maximum of what a mainspan could be. If and when the Strait of Messina Bridge becomes a reality, its mainspan of 10,827 feet / 3,300 meters would be like adding the Golden Gate's mainspan to the Akashi Kaikyo's mainspan with 95 feet / 29 meters to spare. Another comparison of the Strait of Messina's mainspan is that it would be as long as ALL the suspended spans of both the Brooklyn and Golden Gate Bridges COMBINED with over 900 feet / 274 meters to spare.

I have to give props to the Brooklyn Bridge. It was one of the first suspension bridges to be built, and still has that unique look to it.

After visiting San Francisco, and hiking down the cliff on the San Francisco side of the Golden Gate Bridge, I have to give it to the Golden Gate Bridge. The views are amazing.
