That would deffinately be a great pick-up for downtown Toledo and help spark more development on the east coast of the river. From the picture, it looks like it could use some attention.

^ ^ ^ I agree with you and this project is a long time coming. East Toledo has always been known as the Hungarian part of the city and it's always been heavily industrial and dense neighborhoods (population of East Toledo is nearly 35,000 within the city limits). Toledo is finally waking up that both sides of the river being fully developed is better than just one. Water is the most important access and amentity in any urban areas around the world:
