I'm origin in I-san as well. I do speak laos as my native language. I'm sure that people in i-san and laos have same ancestor. There were many laostiens students come to study in my uni (cu) and they all were nice and so smart. As for myself, I really feel so familiar with laostiens. Just the nationality that separate as apart. :) :) :)

I was in southern Laos a month ago on my fifth visit to the country. The Lao nature and relaxed pace of life always calms my nerves. It's almost embarassing that despite being richer most Thai cities IMO look worse than their Lao counterparts.

I know a lot of Laotians here in California and they are all upstanding people. They work hard and try to do best for their families. A lot of Thai folks here are not as nice. They look down on others eventhough they're not so great themselves.
