Yeah LSyd, the Selly Oak area of the city has plenty. I'm working till 6pm on the Wednesday but if you've got a couple of hours spare after that I don't mind a drive down there, let me know :)

thanks for the tour Smileyface. long story short, i missed my train to the airport the next day so i missed my flight back to the states. the next flight i could get a seat on left from Belfast the next day, so that's where i went.

LSyd's photo is only the second pic I've ever seen with both towers in, the other was taken from either on or the other side of the resevoir. From street level they are nigh on impossible to fit in the same shot. I think after it's refurb Perrots Folly will be open to the public....definitely a photo oppurtunity there.

The spire-looking thingy in the first pic of Brum you posted LSyd is the clock tower at Birmingham Uni.

Tallest clock tower in the UK apparently (and I read some that it was tallest in Europe but that may have been when it was built).

The grade 2 listed Rotunda, currently being converted into apartments. The blue in the windows that you can see are Sold signs. 50% of them were bought by one buyer, the rest sold out in an afternoon
