I think I saw this same mountain when I flew over Iran. I flew over Western Iran (close to Iraq), over the Zagros (?) mountains. Then I think I saw one, almost exactly like this one, but smaller in size, few minutes later.
Anyways, nice pics, especially the last one & the second one.
Thanks for sharing.
mahdial_x5 October 18th, 2006, 12:12 AM WOW nice pics man, thank you fot sharing

Yeah, Emirates flies over it. UAE, Bahrain, Qatar, Oman >>> Germany. UAE >>> UK . Gulf Air does too. As a matter of fact, I think all airlines coming from the region of UAE & heading to Western Europe, fly over Iran, if the flight is direct. None that I know of go over Iraq.
Halawala October 18th, 2006, 11:41 PM ^^ They fly over Iran to stay away from Iraq. BA, GF,KL still go over Iraq. Following the recent GF incident (near-collision), I think it won't fly over Iraq again!
NICE PICS!!! WOW!
mahdial_x5 October 19th, 2006, 01:30 AM oh thank you,
btw i forgot that the world was round, because i was looking at a map, but according to a globe, the shortest distance would be over Iran because world is rounD!
nitzomoe October 19th, 2006, 11:55 PM Yeah, Emirates flies over it. UAE, Bahrain, Qatar, Oman >>> Germany. UAE >>> UK . Gulf Air does too. Etihad flows over lebanon, syria, saudi to get to UAE for their brussels Abu Dhabi flight. wierd route.

Tom_Green February 27th, 2008, 10:55 PM What an old thread.
I post some new pics.
This time i flew from Abu Dhabi over Iran, to bad i was sitting on the wrong side of the plane. I had some problems with the sun and the reflections.

Now it`s difficult. Somehow the flightmap on my flight was useless. I am not sure if this is still Iran or Turkey.

Awesome shots, as usual! Are you some kind of travel journalist or how do you manage to have such a great 24/7 travel program? :D
nimrooo August 3rd, 2008, 10:49 AM I think it`s for agriculture.
thanks for the pics, but that looks like a desert? How could you farm in that environment?
