What a bashing isn't it? It's obvious that La Défense is far to be perfect, but that's a bit exagerated.

Obviously in this forum there's a little war between Paris and London if I've understood it well. I've just took a glance on the London City thread and it has collected only 28 "3 or less" votes. So obviously, the famous British "fair play" is really something that is to be applied only by foreigners. :lol:

Because it's rate our skylines, and Paris and London have multiple skylines in different areas of the city. They aren't the only two cities to have multiple threads in the "Rate Our Skylines" sections... :)

Many cities have different skylines around the city. I mean Paris and London has nothing remarkable (skyline) that it needs 2 threads. Paris for example have a skyscraper skyline in La defense but the rest of the city is flat. London has a little cluster in Chanary Wharf and in the city it has 3 skyscrapers and 4 highrises.

I do not wish to be rude but you are really insulting my Europe's two greatest sister cities London and Paris, its spelled Canary Wharf which is not a little cluster, its one of the biggest in Europe and The City has more than 3 skyscrapers all of them are iconic. It's for people to be able to rate for a certain quarter or neighborhood instead of the city skyline as a whole. For instance, in London CW and the City are completely different, some people like both, some like CW, some like the City... and I think most people are happy to be able to rate the skylines individually.

And for the record, London has a excellent skyline for European standards. And quantity isn't everything, a lot of cities are full of skyscrapers and yet very ugly.

And the rest of Paris isn't flat. Although the general quality of the towers (mostly built in the 60s and 70s) is debatable, Paris isn't flat. Please look at the panorama below:

If you don't like London or Paris threads, do not visit there, no one is begging you to come here to talk shit. Yeah? And why not? Like I said, some people like to rate skylines, within the same city, individually. In Paris, the different skylines are so disconnected from each other that it is natural that people want to rate them seperately. Having, many threads gives them this possiblity.

I understand you are not bashing, but this debate is nonesense. It's not out of superiority or whatever that Paris has many threads, people opened them freely for people to rate them, whether you like it or not. Feel free to wander around them and rate them poorly if you dislike them or think they lack height. You keep comparing to asian cities, but Paris and London are in Europe, and have awesome skylines for these standards.

There are often several threads to vote for different clusters of skyscrapers. And London and Paris are not exceptions:
-Sydney and North Sydney skyline
-Los Angeles, Century City ...
-New York Manhattan, Brooklyn, Jersey City and Long Island City
-Amsterdam Sloterdijk, Zuidas, Zuidoost
-Toronto City, North York and scarborough
.....

Yeah but with Paris is another story in both threads are same skyline and same angles shown. Not difrent cluster as in London thread ore Sydney.

^^ Central/historical Paris is not La Défense, La Défense is not the Front de Seine, Front de Seine and Italie XIII are two different clusters, and Italie XIII is not in Créteil. ;)

I would give 9/10 because Paris is not in Asia or America, as a European city this skyline is way too huge. :)

For example here is one of the projects planned (and approved) to be built in the mid 90s.. It was canceled due to the economic crisis back then, and only because of that (AFAIK) :

Adoro a espetacular qualidade dos fantásticos prédios corporativos de La Defense e sua maravilhosa arquitetura, contrastando com toda tradição e conservadorismo do resto da cidade.
Só não dou uma nota melhor que 9 porque tendo em vista o tamanho da cidade o distrito é bem pequeno e precisa de mais prédios para marcar presença.

Great pictures of one of the most beautiful skylines in the world, I specially love how it is separated from the historical Paris and makes a great contrast with it, preserving the old buildings. Definitely the best planned skyline!
