Boise is a city located in the Northwestern United States in the state of Idaho. Boise is the capital and most populous city of the U.S. state of Idaho as well as the county seat of Ada County. Located on the Boise River, this is the principal city of the Boise City-Nampa metropolitan area and the largest city between Salt Lake City, Utah and Portland, Oregon. Boise serves as the primary government, economic, cultural, and transportation center for the area.

renell February 6th, 2003, 05:35 PM isn't Boise in Idaho state??
5.
CtrlAltDel February 6th, 2003, 11:43 PM Incredibly tiny skyline. Yellowknife, NWT in Canada has a bigger skyline, and it has a population of only 17,000! 4.5/10
Tony 175 February 9th, 2003, 08:02 AM Nothing special. Awful. 5.
sOmeOne February 9th, 2003, 08:14 AM :puke:
that's not even a city - a saw a village in Russia that had more scrapers than this!
giallo February 9th, 2003, 12:21 PM I'm not havin' it!! 4
Username February 10th, 2003, 04:12 AM Boise??? You're kidding me right?
5/10 and that's a stretch. Most of it is pity points. ;)
SteelCity32 February 10th, 2003, 04:13 AM Nice set of scrapers. Not too tall.
5/10
dweezy February 11th, 2003, 12:26 AM not much of a skyscraper skyline.... too small to have one in the first place 4/10
1+2=3 February 15th, 2003, 06:41 PM Doesn't look very spectaculair.
4/10
Fallout February 18th, 2003, 05:38 PM Nothing to be proud of, but still more than any polish city of that size.

bgwah February 21st, 2003, 12:05 PM That last pic is the Boise Tower, its not built, and theres a good chance it never will be.
For a city its size, that is a small skyline. NOT TO MENTION IT IS UGLY. I rate it a 1.
johonbravo February 21st, 2003, 11:27 PM who the HECK gave it a 10?????
ok so bloise has a ten and i see ppl giving shanghai a 5 and hongkong lower............
Stoxx April 6th, 2003, 09:11 PM It's OK for a 130.000 people city. Hong Kong with those ugly 30 plus residential buildings looses a bit of beauty doesn't it?
Evergrey April 7th, 2003, 01:46 AM It gets a 10/10 for natural beauty. What a fantastic city! It's skyline is quite small... but it's a small city too. It's good for a city that size.

</table>
.............I was just about to say that. Considering this is a Skyscraper and Skyline site, I have to take few point off, but because of the beauty of the nature around Boise, it gets an 8 in my book.
SUNNI April 10th, 2003, 10:39 AM nothing too special, but i think its more than enough for a place of only130000 people.. 6/10
BGT April 12th, 2003, 07:11 AM 5/10
Tony 175 April 12th, 2003, 07:47 AM Cmon guys, This is Rate the Skyline. Not rate the natural beauty. :D The skyline diserves a 5.
Chad April 12th, 2003, 08:08 AM very spactaculair skyline for population at 130000....:) 6.5/10
james2390 June 5th, 2003, 06:36 AM its fairly good, 7
Siddy_18 June 8th, 2003, 01:31 AM 3/10
Nothing special
Hamnet June 21st, 2003, 12:17 AM Jesus...why do people think a good skyline has to be a mini New York/Hong Kong? Judging cities like Boise with the same criteria one uses for places like Sydney, LA, Chicago etc is just ridiculous. If everyone's going to do that...why don't the admin guys just shortlist the table to include the top 20?
Boise is a small city in the middle of a sparcley populated state. Quite how anyone's thought of building up when there's so much space and land around deserves credit. Great scenery, great aspect, modest and unpretentious skyline: 7/10
The Messiah June 21st, 2003, 12:36 AM Yeah,whatever.This skyline doesn't deserve a mark higher then a 5....so i give a 4.5;)
benscrape June 21st, 2003, 05:14 AM Hamnet, I have to agree with you totally. Boise has a pretty good skyline in my opinion. I give it a 7/10. For where it is located and the size, its modest. Just because certain cities don't have the sheer numbers and sizes of the giants doesn't mean its bad. And IMO, natural settings is very key to a city's skyline looks. Any skyline doesn't look good if you put a blank white screen behind the buildings.
SeeMacau June 28th, 2003, 04:19 AM 8/10
Not Bad !!

Fabio July 31st, 2003, 06:53 AM 3.5/10
I can see only some few ugly mid-rises.
liberty05 August 14th, 2003, 10:07 PM very ugly buildings..........all old and brown..........yuck......
if they dont build boise tower in boise........then they should build it in Bellevue WA! it would fit perfectly. Bellevue tower! :guns1:
Javier August 15th, 2003, 04:38 AM Nice, very nice...
Boise, a name to remember.... 7/10
SFtoBoise August 17th, 2003, 08:40 PM 8/10
I see it everyday, and I can't get enough of it. If only they would finish the Boise Tower!
Money Man August 17th, 2003, 11:17 PM The skyline isn't very stunning. My sister and my cousin live there now becuz of college, and when I went to go see my cousin in June, I was bummed. It was almost a joke from where I come from, it was in the classification of Pasadena. But hey whatever, it's alright for a population of 130,000.
puer October 21st, 2003, 05:17 AM I give it a 7. Compared to other NW cities its size (Eugene and Salem), Boise is quite impressive.
Zebulahn October 21st, 2003, 04:54 PM If you think this skyline is good for a city of its size, wait till you see Yellowknife. This skyline sucks.
ParraMan January 16th, 2004, 07:22 PM 5.5
Doing good for a city of such small population, has a nice well-formed cluster, but too much emptiness surrounding it.
dj_metroid August 14th, 2004, 04:55 AM 7/10....and thats from my memory of it.
sallad November 27th, 2004, 10:33 AM Boise is the "city of trees" and that's about it. As for the skyline, many trees are taller than it's buildings. It is a nice city though.
TritaniumZ3 November 27th, 2004, 10:55 PM Looks like El Paso. 6/10
VAN-TO November 28th, 2004, 09:52 AM Skyline? Easy to miss. 3/10
SF2ID March 10th, 2005, 05:24 AM 6/10 cuz for a little city known for nothing but potatos the skyline isn't bad
hugo_hlv March 10th, 2005, 02:23 PM 7/10
MattSal May 31st, 2005, 06:12 PM Good for its size. I give it a 5/10.

skyscape07 September 24th, 2005, 05:45 AM boise isnt no new york or tokyo but for its pop., its a pretty nice skyline its not overly nice but its not horrible, i have to give it a 8/10 someone has to average out the ppl who voted under a 3 when its really a 5/10 so im voting higher but i do like the city i dont really think its ugly and some of the buildings are cool
skyscape07 September 24th, 2005, 05:46 AM and the mountains make it beautiful
Sinjin P. September 24th, 2005, 05:54 AM The skyline deserves a 7/10...Great :D

Towson,MD is a suburb of Baltimore with 50,000 people, and I think it has a better skyline than Boise.
Harkeb November 18th, 2005, 04:49 AM 4.5
lancetop December 12th, 2005, 05:43 AM I've been through Boise, and spent the night there when we drove across the country. The skyline is ultra weak. But the cleanliness, the orderliness, the beautiful environment made being there quite pleasant. For this reason I give Boise a (generous) 6.0
Jayayess1190 December 13th, 2005, 03:28 AM A panorama of the Boise, ID, skyline is seen from a subdivision near Table Rock. Photos taken June 5, 2003, by Pete Yamagata.

SactoSpam January 26th, 2006, 07:20 AM 5.5/10 -- not very impressive at all.
smartlake February 5th, 2006, 11:05 AM I am disappointed in Boise. Seriously, it is probably the cleannest and classiest cities you'll ever visit. The cleanliness of it is almost creepy to a point, if that makes any sense. Coeur d'Alene which has like 1/5 population of Boise literally has a better skyline. I hope that Boise tries to get some taller buildings, or at least more of the midrises.
Pruim February 25th, 2006, 04:18 PM indeed skyline 4.5/10
hauntedheadnc February 25th, 2006, 11:23 PM The pictures don't do it justice. 6/10.

small for a state capital, and largest city in state
SacOnTheRise December 18th, 2006, 12:35 AM Sometimes you have small skylines that look great this is not one of those cases.
MDguy December 19th, 2006, 02:33 AM I love the skyline. Better then "a russian village" or yellowknife. IMO. ^And yes, it is one of those cases. Also, just look at the second picture on the first page and you may change your mind
