Incredibly tiny skyline. Yellowknife, NWT in Canada has a bigger skyline, and it has a population of only 17,000! 4.5/10

That last pic is the Boise Tower, its not built, and theres a good chance it never will be.

For a city its size, that is a small skyline. NOT TO MENTION IT IS UGLY. I rate it a 1.

It's OK for a 130.000 people city. Hong Kong with those ugly 30 plus residential buildings looses a bit of beauty doesn't it?

Evergrey
April 7th, 2003, 01:46 AM
It gets a 10/10 for natural beauty. What a fantastic city! It's skyline is quite small... but it's a small city too. It's good for a city that size.

.............I was just about to say that. Considering this is a Skyscraper and Skyline site, I have to take few point off, but because of the beauty of the nature around Boise, it gets an 8 in my book.

Jesus...why do people think a good skyline has to be a mini New York/Hong Kong? Judging cities like Boise with the same criteria one uses for places like Sydney, LA, Chicago etc is just ridiculous. If everyone's going to do that...why don't the admin guys just shortlist the table to include the top 20?

Boise is a small city in the middle of a sparcley populated state. Quite how anyone's thought of building up when there's so much space and land around deserves credit. Great scenery, great aspect, modest and unpretentious skyline: 7/10

Hamnet, I have to agree with you totally. Boise has a pretty good skyline in my opinion. I give it a 7/10. For where it is located and the size, its modest. Just because certain cities don't have the sheer numbers and sizes of the giants doesn't mean its bad. And IMO, natural settings is very key to a city's skyline looks. Any skyline doesn't look good if you put a blank white screen behind the buildings.

The skyline isn't very stunning. My sister and my cousin live there now becuz of college, and when I went to go see my cousin in June, I was bummed. It was almost a joke from where I come from, it was in the classification of Pasadena. But hey whatever, it's alright for a population of 130,000.

I've been through Boise, and spent the night there when we drove across the country. The skyline is ultra weak. But the cleanliness, the orderliness, the beautiful environment made being there quite pleasant. For this reason I give Boise a (generous) 6.0

I am disappointed in Boise. Seriously, it is probably the cleannest and classiest cities you'll ever visit. The cleanliness of it is almost creepy to a point, if that makes any sense. Coeur d'Alene which has like 1/5 population of Boise literally has a better skyline. I hope that Boise tries to get some taller buildings, or at least more of the midrises.
