Actually the wave of militancy did have effects that reached out as far as my secondary school in Thornton. Does anyone remember some kind of united day of working class solidarity action type thing that happened around 1985 when even the school kids were meant to stay away from school?

Clearly, the city that dared to fight was keen to make sure that its outer surburbs were in line, as a posse of junior activists were dispatched from town to picket our school and hand out leaflets, which they did for a few minutes, until the deputy head came out and chased them.

So did I. Doctor reckons I ate something dodgy on Sunday night (chips & gravy) and when I threw that up, I re-ruptured my stomach. She doesn't think the H.Pylori infection is back, so gave me a few tablets to stop the vomiting and told me to stick to liquids for the next couple of days. Should be alright soon! :)
