View Full Version : Guess The Tiki! Bikkel August 3rd, 2005, 01:18 AM http://img156.imageshack.us/img156/9300/buenosaires006jb.jpg (http://imageshack.us) Bikkel August 3rd, 2005, 01:20 AM Could be anywhere?? I agree! http://img156.imageshack.us/img156/1585/buenosaires062sd.jpg (http://imageshack.us) Anymodal August 3rd, 2005, 02:32 AM you dutch forumers are always on dope. WTF has the tiki to do? is it in anyway related? meh, forget it. honolulu? Bikkel August 3rd, 2005, 03:45 AM hmm, you bring up the subject of dope. I guess it's one of your problems actually. It's not Honululu! Küsel August 3rd, 2005, 10:06 AM By the architecture (shutters, gardening, rooftops, balconies) it can't be everywhere. Is it this city? http://www.socio.ch/maro/images/DSC05684.jpg eusebius August 3rd, 2005, 10:16 AM Yes! Douze points! Küsel August 3rd, 2005, 11:20 AM I didn't say the name! So don't give it away - was not a real guess!!!!!!! And for other guessers: no, it's not Zurich  SanMiguel August 3rd, 2005, 01:07 PM it looks almost like a block where my grandma lives... Germany? Munich? . Küsel August 3rd, 2005, 01:12 PM I think you should know it :) - no not what you think now, but anyway... eusebius August 3rd, 2005, 01:59 PM It's not Germany! couple more! http://img37.imageshack.us/img37/9070/buenosaires24iz.jpg (http://imageshack.us) http://img37.imageshack.us/img37/5821/buenosaires67rl.jpg (http://imageshack.us) Küsel August 3rd, 2005, 02:10 PM Is one of them you? What did you do there? SanMiguel August 3rd, 2005, 02:13 PM then it must b Switzerland or Austria . eusebius August 3rd, 2005, 02:23 PM It's Switzerland! SanMiguel August 3rd, 2005, 02:40 PM ???? eusebius, bikkel is ur clone? :D or why u answer his gtc? well, it is NOT Basel haha... how about Bern? . Küsel August 3rd, 2005, 02:45 PM I think Eusebius said last week that his uncle died and he gave him the name Bikkel - isn't it? But why is it that you have two identities? - I mean there people who have, but I was never feeling for it :) Zarkon August 3rd, 2005, 08:20 PM Netherlands? Djoez August 3rd, 2005, 08:37 PM you dutch forumers are always on dope MY TREAT!!! ;) http://img293.imageshack.us/img293/8370/xtc8wd.jpg eusebius August 3rd, 2005, 09:29 PM :ohno: Djoez no Basel no Bern it's in Switzerland! bikkel is a boxerdog that logs on 'after hours' Djoez August 3rd, 2005, 09:38 PM Lausanne or Neuchatel? btw i don't do drugs, i do beer and wine :D eusebius August 3rd, 2005, 10:10 PM Good! And actually the Dutch are amongst the least frequent users, it's just the image that people use drugs in public and not behind closed doors. No Neuchatel or Lausanne! Djoez August 3rd, 2005, 10:21 PM Biel or Winterthur? Anymodal August 3rd, 2005, 10:53 PM Montreux? bikkel is pissed off with me for some reason :fiddle: Küsel August 3rd, 2005, 11:38 PM Ehm, not that I want to interrupt, but I think something is wrong with one "no" (San Miguel) if I understood eusebius right before... or there was a big misunderstanding between us (my pic is from Bern and he said yes) ;) eusebius August 4th, 2005, 12:14 AM erm, before this gets confusing: where is the bikkel city? btw Kueselwebber, I couldn't find the picture you used on your website. I had a great time reading your report on Holland. Seems you know can work out why it's an insult to be called 'Holland'. no correct answers for this one as yet but Kuesel obviously knows. Those houses are for let right now  SanMiguel August 4th, 2005, 08:08 AM ok, now i confused too....let me see, the pic posted by Kuessel is in Bern? but the starting pics are not? and Kuesel, what u mean with : ' "no" (SanMiguel) ' ? coz i said it's NOT Basel? ok, how about Solothurn? . Küsel August 4th, 2005, 08:26 AM Eusebius: thanks for reading my sarcastic stuff :) And don't take it too serious, it's only experiences and as a Kishon fan since a child I just like to poke fun  - Anyway: Yes, I know the difference of Holland and Netherlands, but here no one does and "Holland" is officially the name of the country in Swissgerman - as Alemao for Germany in Portuguese (although the Allemannen are only Baden-Württemberg and North Switzerland). Even my ductch neighbour doesn't talk about Niederlande. SanMiguel: Okay, from the beginning I thought it must be Bern because of the architecture - but I couldn't guess it as a Swiss and posted a pic of the city that I used for an earlier GTC. Eusebius gave me douze points for it :) Then you came and guessed Bern - don't know if because of his or my pic - and it was wrong. So I also got confused... to be honest I also don't know the town in the pic because it can be even here in Altstetten/Zürich or any suburb or neighbourhood in Fribourg, Aarau, Luzern..... These buildings from the 20s to 40s are as standartized as the rows in England  SanMiguel August 4th, 2005, 08:49 AM Yeah, at first i thought it is in my town :D... yes i guessed Bern coz of your pic. . Küsel August 4th, 2005, 09:09 AM So I was wrong with Bern actually  I really don't know it then, can be everywhere between Romanshorn and Fribourg as I said ;) eusebius August 4th, 2005, 02:35 PM Ok, Kuesel, it's again Altstetten :D http://img46.imageshack.us/img46/5816/buenosaires0ac.jpg (http://imageshack.us) Küsel August 4th, 2005, 03:03 PM This time I fooled also you  - although I think the first pic is not in Altstetten - but never know, for together with Albisrieden it is a neighbourhood of about 40'000... Okay, als Trostpflaster gibts nochmals einen Rofftopview :) http://www.socio.ch/maro/images/altstetten_view3.jpg Küsel August 4th, 2005, 03:04 PM You didn't answer my question: is one of the guys in the third pic you? eusebius August 4th, 2005, 05:14 PM No, that's not me; I posted results for altstetten :D The first pic comes from http://www.rotach.ch/index.cfm?Nav=11 Küsel August 4th, 2005, 07:51 PM The last pic is close to the neighbourhood center (Lindenplatz) - my shopping facilities are just on the streetside of the camera :) The building you posted before (not the one with the people) is a bank schooling center. The first pic as I said I doubt that it's here - looks really Bern-like. the second one is close from here where I live (see Hallenbad :)) Thanks a lot to make my living area so popular - I HATE it - had to move here after coming back from Brazil... before I lived HERE (just right of the big building in front of the Grossmünster, the church with the two towers): http://www.socio.ch/maro/images/limmatpanorama.jpeg eusebius August 4th, 2005, 09:06 PM I saved the first picture from that housing website, this organisation solely operates in Zürich. Yet it does happen that estate websites confuse pictures but it'd still be Zürich. Can't you find? It may have been let in the meantime! I studied the map of your Zürich borough and just searched for streetname plus altstetten. What is 'stetten' btw? Just 'stätten'? Anyway I live somewhere below these trees to the right: http://img173.echo.cx/img173/2090/pict19503zx.jpg Some of the steepest hills you'd find in the Netherlands. I cycled up a 35% hill each schoolday! Builds character ;) Küsel August 4th, 2005, 09:18 PM Thanks, looks nearly like Altstetten :) We have a lot of commieblocks here as well... About the first pic: it can be - you know that maybe 60% of the Swiss houses look like that, tourists are mostly surprised by our boring urban sprawl :) eusebius August 4th, 2005, 09:38 PM You know a part of The Hague is actually called Little Switzerland - which is modelled after Arnhem, Velp and Oosterbeek; the latest prestigious project in Wassenaar/Den Haag is called Villa Oosterbeek. From the river banks onto the heatherfields is from +11 to +113m :D yet rather steep! The cyclepath near Oosterbeek is called the Italian Way as if it were like in The Alps :D Arnhem is also the NL HQ for Novartis and Bayer and was for BASF (moved to Paris). We have this Swiss connection but it's rather with Basel than Züri! Küsel August 4th, 2005, 09:46 PM There's more common things: The Swiss urban and spacial planning from the 1940s is based on the Dutch one from the 1920s. You have Randstad with a green heart - we have an urban corridor in the midlands with the green area on both sides - at least it was planned like that - the reality looks different. BTW I wrote my diploma work in the university also about Amsterdam - it's a bit old in the meantime, but if you are intersted: http://socio.ch/demo/t_rothdip1.htm eusebius August 4th, 2005, 09:53 PM Yep, plans looked great however Apeldoorn grew like mad from the moment on that Arnhem stopped expanding further northbound. If you like the Amsterdam planning, I assume you know that Berlage built a castle tower near Arnhem, as part of: http://skyscrapercity.com/showthread.php?t=189054 Küsel August 4th, 2005, 09:58 PM Thanks! Do you know Apenheul? - I LOVE it :) Arnhem Zoo is also great and was very progressive. eusebius August 4th, 2005, 10:03 PM yeah, that's all bikkel sniff and walk territory! Have you noticed the viaducts built over the motorway from Arnhem to Arnhem-Apeldoorn? It started a trend of building viaducts for animal wild life! North of Hilversum the largest one is under construction now. I should be posting about it! Küsel August 4th, 2005, 10:08 PM Interesting. BTW: You told once why Eusebius. But Bikkel - it was your uncle that just died who gave you the name you said - where does it come from? eusebius August 4th, 2005, 10:16 PM bikkel means butch guy either elbowing his way through or plainly boxing his way through. Someone who would take on the tough job in mining or constrcution could also be nicknamed 'bikkel'. Generally 'bikkel' is not associated with being smart or sophisticated. Küsel August 4th, 2005, 10:23 PM So it fits you?! ;) I think it would be a nice idea to make a GTC-meetup once! - At least a European one ;) conquest August 4th, 2005, 10:27 PM is it grutenthofhen? conquest August 4th, 2005, 10:28 PM or is it cahnoffmanucheh? conquest August 4th, 2005, 10:29 PM oh i know its chufenthaft!!! |
