This is Avenida de Mayo (May Ave.), the street with spanish influences in Buenos Aires. You will also see the Congress district and the sorroundings. Note that many many buildings are being restored and/or refurbished in BA

Doesn't it look like the Post Office Palace in Madrid? (this one is an old residential)

^^ really there are pics that made me to feel in Madrid, like this.
But i would not say this is spanish architecture, i would say "madrileña" or in smaller proportion "barcelonesa".

I can see the similitudes between Gran Vía and Avda 2 de Mayo in B.Aires.
Thank u to show us your awesome capital:okay:

this picture is the best one. Save for the cars and the congress at the end of the street, I wouldn't be able to distinguish it from any street in l'Eixample of Barcelona, and I'm from Barcelona. Same trees, same buildings, same way of distributing the street, same shops... now I've distinguished what looks like a subway entrance which is obviously different to the ones in Barcelona, but it's a small detail ^_^

I love this kind of buildings.
Some of the streets could really be in Barcelona or Madrid.

i would say this is spanish architecture, not madridense or barcelonesa, because it's all over Spain, it's very very tipical, like a special kind of modernisme, that´s the spanish architecture, not colonial

^^ True, some streets could be perfectly part of Barcelona, Madrid or others... even taxis are black and yellow like in Barcelona
On the other hand, some buildings are very eclectic, with a clear french and other influences as well.
What has always surpised me is that while italian inmigration made up to 50% of the total, it doesn't show on the architecture of Argentinean cities.

Yes! Since I first went to Buenos Aires, I found the Gran Vía really similar to Buenos Aires, the set of buildings ends up usually have the same style, etc... And Buenos Aires still has a touch of French styled buildings, which just makes the city look even better.

Spanish touch is similar to french in many buildings.

Watching these pics, i've got the impression of seeing Madrid or BCN. Thank you

Buenos Aires is the most beautiful city of Latin America. Perhaps even in all the Americas!
