we played so bad we deserved to loose to malmo!
zohar the second one was chosen but because it is 6 towers and not 3 like they wanted in the competition, the plan is now stuck!

both proposals arent nice designs.. just ordinary!

The first one is interesting, but the two buildings forming an arch in the other one is quite unique.

ZOHAR

ZOHAR
August 4th, 2005, 12:14 AM

ZOHAR
August 4th, 2005, 12:17 AM

i say this project according to globes has been turned down because it is 6 towers not 3 like the competition proposal called for.

Both of them are really bad.

They shouldn't build there at all.

It will hurt one of TLV's most important symbols and it's sad...

I hope we will not see any construction there in the next 20 years...

wakshlak is right 100%

source27
August 4th, 2005, 03:49 PM
wow I would expect wakshlak the capitalist to support building more than 3 towers :)
yes the best option is to develop that circle into a better park, maybe with an underground parking!

second one may be better only because it gives us 6 towers and not 3,
but the design is ugly and with all the good designs that can be it
will be best to leave it as a park and build somewhere else!

^^ israel is famous in screwing people who invested in land, look at tel hashomer ("tel litvinsky") first the british took it over as a army hospital and then israel took it over as an army base with the british paying very little compensation to the brothers who bought the land.. and these stories are everywhere - anyway, it doesnt surprise me..

Mojo:
What does "compunction" related to that?
Zohar asked which one of the 2 we prefer.

As a regular citizen, I prefer to have a big park and to keep TLV's symbols rather than to see skyscrapers.

Don't take it to places it's not there.
He asked which one is better - I think they are both bad. Don't lecture me, because 99% of the people prefer to see parks rather the skyscrapers in the middle of the city.
That's what I answer as a resident of the city of Tel Aviv.

If you talking about rights and thinking about the other side - It's a different thing. Acutaly, I prefer you will get compensation rather than seeing those towers built. I think it's the best thing to do. Of course nobody will pay that amount of money to build a park...

Anyway,
The question was which one I prefer. My choise is nothing. I prefer to see a park. The reality is that there are other things rather than what I want - Like the rights you have there. In the end the towers will be built, but my guess is that it will not happen in the next 10-15 years.
