Hi all this is my first post here

it's been a while since I was back in Bahrain but I was just wondering if anyone here thinks that Bahrain should model its privatized transportation infrastructure from other countries. Say you were given the opportunity to run CARS Transport what would you improve in terms of network and routes??

Thanks alot ppl :)

Hey welcome aboard, hope you enjoy it here. Well answering your question, I think initially we need the following:

- For the buses, we need an increased frequency of services on busy routes, it takes like 40 mins for a bus to come into a stop and if you miss it, it's a long wait in the heat for many.

- Another thing, we need a night service to run, not sure if it exists or not, don't think so.

- A larger bus fleet will definately be good.

Besides this, we do need some sort of train in this country, be it a monorail or an LRT/MRT, it's lookin very likely that such a thing will be needed in the future.

thanks for the feedback

actually I think the buses that we have are a bit too narrow so something in the lines of these buses will do

With regards to the routes I think they should be operated on a 15 min basis on the day and 30 mins from 8PM to 6AM the next day

also I think there should be a tram to connect Major Areas of Bahrain from Manama such as Muharraq, Budaiya, And Isa Town, something to look like this

If I had more time I could draw up pictures on how it would look like but Basically that's all I can think

The roads in Budaiya, the part on the main highway, opposite to the firestation, and right after the Jawads turning is terrible...Thats exactly where my house is..The road is full of cracks, soo neglected...

Btw is it just me or do we have SOO MANY Qatari cars, some kuwaiti ones, Emarati and Omani too, on our roads this summer..We've always had Saudi..But this yr we have from all over the gulf....don't we..?

I hope they enjoy they're stay, and come visit again to breathe some life into our tourism sector, lol....Bahrain is a nice country, not too exciting, i'm just afraid they might get disillusioned with our cheap and embarassing so called "summer festivals"....The tourism industry in Bahrain is too complacent...But i hope with the new EDB recommendations they reform and start moving...The new hotels being built here and there are a good sign...

I do agree, I know exactly where you live, the problem is there are many cracks that you need to fix. Budaiya road is kinda neglected in a way. The problem with the cracks is mainly due to trucks passing because they can't use the sitra causeway cause it can't handle the load, but that's probably not the case for the Budaiya road, just needs more attention.

I do agree, there are many Qataris around and other gulf countries, but I'd honestly don't recommend that we do any festivals unless they are planned atleast a year before not 2 weeks to avoid embarassment. Regarding things to do, Bahrain is happening but not as much as in the 80's, it needs revival in a way, it's probably in the downhill phase for a bit and should pick up with a new blood generation.

well thanks guys for the opinions but I think you 4got about the main idea of the topic lol

Bahrain Patriot: Actually I live down the road in Bani Jamra and recently the roads were refurbished so I guess that's what they're planning on for the rest of the roads in Budaiya
