this development has hit trouble, with the developers struggling to handle their internal squables. The site may go back to the market if they dont sort out their problems by 15 oct 2005

Ooh, I like this much better!! What angle is this render taken from? Is the bottom left corner Browns Avenue or the main road that runs along the main spine of the canal? Unless this is a back view, it seems as if the front (if this indeed the front) will feature a sideways extension of the canal (parallel to the main spine of the canal), and off the little canalette (does such a word even exist? oh well...) going down to Heritage Square. I suspect, though, that this is the view of the Heritage Square canal (meaning the back of the development). Either way, VERY nice!

hehe, this is the view from timeball square, and that side canal does indeed run down to heritage square. Skyhomes will be developed next to the canal, behind ilanga newspapers...looking good

i also prefer this new look

dno, we busy doing the tender drawings, but these guys dont seen to be in a big hurry. So not too sure

dysan1
April 13th, 2006, 12:33 PM
they lost their funding initially, so it looked the project was canned, now that they have found it i'm sure they'll be better this time...prob an august start

^^ they never loose funding, it was more that not enough flats were sold & they couldnt find tenants for the restaurant. So the design of the flats have been revamped abit, made a tad bit smaller seeing that the flats were avg 200sqm in the old design.

Spoke to the sales people today and they seem to think they will break ground in august...durbsboi?

Also they say that the Surfski club will be based nextdoor, so the canal past the building will constantly have activity

I dont think the overall design is changing, maybe just the flats, I dont work with renders so I only get floor plans so its hard to say. but as I said before GAP havent contacted me in Ages, but they should be diggin soon.

Just got word on this one, its canned :(

but a decent size plot, I wonder what will come up here?

i'm glad it got canned. it was an ugly one on such a prime spot. initially the DPDC were upset for they wanted an iconic building on the site and the developer refused to outlay money on a grander one. part of the constant hold up. The site can build up to 9F

Hey guys, This project has been uncanned! Just got an email from PWR (who have taken over this one). Here is the email:

PWR Properties has managed to secure yet another brand new prime development investment property overlooking the very heart of the Durban Point Waterfront namely Timeball Square Canal.

One Point One Seven is positioned in the very heart of the Point Precinct and overlooks Timeball Square Canal, which is the focal point of the entire precinct. This new development will offer superb views, with most of the apartments offering superb views of the precinct’s canals and our own private canal and moorings, which run through our development. and a large percentage of the apartments will also offer ocean views, city centre views or harbour views, or a combination of all of these.

For more information on this investment opportunity please click on the button below:

Sounds like good news, i really liked this one but knowing PWR this will take years before they even break ground.

PWR arent developers, they are sales agents for developments. So how long a dev takes to rise is not directly related to them.

Also got the email, look forward to seeing the new design. its such a prime plot on timeball square

Hi Dysan

Any new news?

PWR confirm that sales are slow but moving, 35 apartments and 11 retail have been "optionised" (cant think of better word)

Cheers

LOL, meaning not bought yet. I have no idea here, they arent the most reliable group of people when it comes to actively releasing information. I have no renders since they have changed the design and their website does not even refer to this development in any detail. Guess best thing to do is go to their offices in the sails, but i dont have the opportunity during the week cos living and working in umhlanga doesnt encourage travel to the point. but we need more info

Thanks, you expect more serious communication from agents, especially as the markets are not at their best

I cannot for the life of me understand how they are expect to sell apartments when there is NO infomation available (renders, start and completion of the project etc.) I have tried to get info from PWR regarding this one and S on Timeball and Shakas gate but they never return emails/phone calls etc. They are completely useless and am so suprised that people would enstrust them with their money, hell i wouldnt. Just my rant:)
