I would like to see a real world St. Louis or Detroit. Maybe Atlanta but thats the south. avissers August 6th, 2005, 04:47 PM I would say that the Twin Cities or Madison would be a likely choice if this show continues and considers a location in the Midwest. wh92stang August 6th, 2005, 04:49 PM To be honest I don't think Madison would even come close to getting one. Milwaukee would before Madison. I think the most likely canidates are the Twin Cities, St. Louis, or Detroit. avissers August 6th, 2005, 04:52 PM To be honest I don't think Madison would even come close to getting one. Milwaukee would before Madison. I think the most likely canidates are the Twin Cities, St. Louis, or Detroit. Makes sense, but why Austin, TX before Dallas, TX, or Houston, TX??? The university had a lot to do with that... wh92stang August 6th, 2005, 04:55 PM To be honest I don't think Madison would even come close to getting one. Milwaukee would before Madison. If they're going to move to a university town, it'll probably be Columbus. Madison is too small, Austin is almost three times its size and is also the live music capital of the south. gaviidae August 6th, 2005, 07:42 PM That show will most likely never again come to any Midwestern city. Who watches MTV, anyway? punkerz123 August 6th, 2005, 08:42 PM That show will most likely never again come to any Midwestern city. Who watches MTV, anyway? I do hudkina August 6th, 2005, 10:50 PM If they do come to Detroit they'll probably stick to Ann Arbor or Royal Oak. I don't think they'll come into the city yet. bmc343 August 6th, 2005, 10:50 PM Who doesn't watch Real World? I think MPLS would be the most realistic candidate....great nightlife, one of the biggest Universities in the country located there, and besides it's WAY fun. Like Austin, TX gets a season of real world before MPLS!! Madison would be sweet, but I think that's a little unrealistic. I love Madison though. Steely Dan August 7th, 2005, 04:09 AM Who doesn't watch Real World? about 5.99 of earth's 6 billion people. real world, like all reality shows , is fucking retarded, and real world is especially stupid as it's a reality show made for teenagers. thatchio August 7th, 2005, 05:22 AM What is weird is that I swear Real World came to the Twin Cities and filmed. They did a casting call a few years ago and I thought it was billed as for the TC RW. But we would have read about it if it had actually happened. Odd. And I agree, Real World is lame! Perhaps if they had more "real" people on it, it'd be less obnoxious...though more boring than it already is. digital_slash August 7th, 2005, 07:48 AM The only time I watch the Real World is when I flip to MTV and it happens to be on. The TV stations I watch are MTV (for Made & True Life), VH1 (cauze who doesn't love the Top 40 Awesomley [fill in the blank]), NBC (for ER & Joey), and WGN (local Chicago station for reruns. usually just have it on in the background). ...That took me 10 minutes to write and I have no idea what purpose it serves (shrug). Anyway, I've actually thought about this before and I think that the next Midwest RL setting will either be a "RL: Back to Chicago", or a "RL: Minneapolis" CG5 August 7th, 2005, 10:19 AM Every night, before bed, I pray and thank God that the real world isn't like the Real World. oshkeoto August 7th, 2005, 11:43 AM When I moved to Madison from Chicago at age 14, I used to watch The Real World all the time because they were in Chicago and I was homesick. Bonjourtoledo August 7th, 2005, 02:20 PM The list of cities in the Midwest Real World should consider: 1) Cleveland, rock & roll & abundance of local flavors 2) Cincinnati, this is where pig flies 3) Ann Arbor, ultra euphoria college town 4) Kansas City, abundance of local flavors 5) Chicago, could return just like they did in New York City Goatman August 7th, 2005, 04:15 PM The list of cities in the Midwest Real World should consider: 1) Cleveland, rock & roll & abundance of local flavors 2) Cincinnati, this is where pig flies 3) Ann Arbor, ultra euphoria college town 4) Kansas City, abundance of local flavors 5) Chicago, could return just like they did in New York City You would rather see a real world in Kansas City, Cincinnati, Ann Arbor, and Chicago again before you saw one in Detroit, St. Louis, and Minneapolis. Man, Bonjourtoledo those are some really lame choices i can't imagine what they would do in Ann Arbor, MI. :bash: Indyman August 7th, 2005, 04:40 PM I don't think they would consider Indy either. Too bad. Bonjourtoledo August 7th, 2005, 05:51 PM You would rather see a real world in Kansas City, Cincinnati, Ann Arbor, and Chicago again before you saw one in Detroit, St. Louis, and Minneapolis. Man, Bonjourtoledo those are some really lame choices i can't imagine what they would do in Ann Arbor, MI. :bash: I stand by my choices. Ann Arbor is perfect for Real World setting--until you visit AA and spend some time you will understand. JivecitySTL August 7th, 2005, 06:54 PM Ann Arbor is a college town (a great one too). But it would get so old so fast. My sister went to U of M. I love Ann Arbor, but how the hell could you sit through a whole season of watching the cast eat at the same fucking restaurant over and over. It's a little city. oshkeoto August 7th, 2005, 07:41 PM I could see them doing a St. Louis show before anything else, just because it sounds better. St. Louis evokes something, a Midwestern roughness. Minneapolis, probably the next best contender, evokes nice people. Detroit evokes poor black people. Ohio is always a tough sell to people used to seeing everything be set in either New York or Laguna Beach. wh92stang August 7th, 2005, 10:19 PM You would rather see a real world in Kansas City, Cincinnati, Ann Arbor, and Chicago again before you saw one in Detroit, St. Louis, and Minneapolis. Man, Bonjourtoledo those are some really lame choices i can't imagine what they would do in Ann Arbor, MI. :bash: I agree with the fact that Chicago again would be lame. But.... why do you fell K.C. and Cincy would be much different at all from St. Louis? Minneapolis would be a more likely canidate than the others because there's a big university downtown in a pretty large city. Also, Ann Arbor is only half an hour outside of Detroit so I don't think it's that unlikely. I don't think having one in downtown Detroit would appeal very much to MTV. (I personally wouldn't mind it though) Avissers, the reason I don't think Madison is because it's much smaller than Austin. If it wasn't the state capital it would hardly be recognizable outside of the upper midwest. I agree it's a nice town and fun place to go out, but it's not nearly big enough. airmale007 August 9th, 2005, 06:24 PM real world, like all reality shows , is fucking retarded, and real world is especially stupid as it's a reality show made for teenagers. hell yes milwaukeeunseen August 9th, 2005, 07:05 PM I don't think they'd ever pick Milwaukee, which is a good thing cuz the show is a ridiculous pile of tripe. Most likely Midwestern city for Real World? Based on the show's demographics and what they're purportedly trying to accomplish with it, I'd go with Minneapolis. I haven't watched the Real World since I entered the actual real world, that is, the actual life of being a real adult person. Which MTV's Real World makes a mockery of. And everyone should know by now that reality TV is about as "real" as Peewee's Playhouse. Remember that show? SRG August 14th, 2005, 02:41 AM MTV recently bought a warehouse in OKC's Bricktown district. I still don't even know 1/10 of the details, only the specs from the newspaper's real estate acquisition report. MSPSCO3113 August 14th, 2005, 05:41 AM I heard the next location will be Key West FL. I'm pissed, fuck the Real World. The town is smaller than my damn university. Where next, Bangor Maine? or Juneau? I'm not gonna watch it anymore. ReddAlert August 14th, 2005, 05:50 AM lol...if thats what the real world is like...then I am all for getting my ass kicked out. Go to some B.S. job, come to my increidble house, have sex with amazingly beautiful woman, go get drunk....maybe get into a little argument with some liberal filmmaker from NYC. Thats the life. They should have it in Milwaukee. Put em somewhere on North Ave...the ghetto part.. Make them take the bus too. Shoot in winter. Make them shovel snow to get their cars out of the garage. That is life. (This is Walgreens) aion26 August 15th, 2005, 03:34 AM yes, when they came to chicago, they changed the shooting schedule so that it took place over the summer, which annoyed me because I would have actually probably watched the thing if only to see some whiny california teenager moan "i'm cold" all season long, they should have been made to shovel here, and learn the hard way what those chairs on the street really mean, that would have been quality television. ;) St. Louis or Detroit should be next (that doesn't mean I'd watch it though, the show sucks). Macman722 August 15th, 2005, 03:45 AM This has to be the one thread where I'm hoping for my city to be shot down/not mentioned. |
