What a coincident, I was browsing for lion rock trail photo yesterday.

I find http://www.pbase.com/joecheng/lion_rock031214 and

with a link from that page I also run into

http://www.pbase.com/mcheng/031214lionrock

so there are more photos from http://www.pbase.com/joecheng/lion_rock031214 for the same lion rock trip.

strange to see a topic pop up about this, because I actually went to Lion Rock yesterday (my original attempt, the day before yesterday, was called off when a giant snake went right past me :runaway: )
thought i'd upload some pictures, however none have had any processing done on them since where i'm staying (mate's flat in tai wai, facing the Amah Rock), doesn't have Photoshop, so sorry if the colours seem a bit off...

a messed up panorama, I'm gonna have to go back and use a sensible ISO next time :bash:

I'd recommend taking a torch if you ever think of going there when it's dark!

Not just a torch but insect repellant :D

One thing about Lion Rock, it gives you a great view of HK's skyline both the city and parts of New Territories

I pride myself on being lazy, and it really wasn't strenuous at all for me, there were steps all the way to the top. I've seen the hike listed in books in the Family Section of HK hikes. We came at it from Tai Wai and it took us about an hour or so, and then went down to Kowloon - this way seems quicker, despite it being damn dark.
As Wanch said, insect repellant would be a good investment before hand.

That may be the best view of the city!
It's the best one I've seen yet; possible to see ALL of kowloon, the front of HK island, Shatin, parts of Lantau (i think) and even the bridge to Tsing Yi; just by turning your head.

I never know how to use photoshop :P
Nice pics though! I like the one with running water most. Feels fresh.

Just curious, can you use a non SLR camera and take these kinds of photos?

yeah, should be no problem to use a non dSLR camera. of course a tripod would be needed for evening shots.

example of a non dSLR
