EarlyBird August 9th, 2005, 08:51 PM Well I'm not exactly the world's best photographer and I've only just got my camera so don't expect top quality pics, but here is my first photographic contribution to the site!

caw123 August 10th, 2005, 11:49 PM Nice ones. Some fab churches about.
EB, why is my browser telling me that your images are 0kb each? :?
EarlyBird August 11th, 2005, 12:00 AM Nice ones. Some fab churches about.
Thanks :) The churches are my favourite buildings in Ashton. St Michaels is the more recognised due to it's age, but personally I think the Albion is one of the nicest around.
EB, why is my browser telling me that your images are 0kb each? :?
Because I'm using URL redirection on them to shorten the URLs I have to type. It does that for some reason.

There is a roundabout off to the right of this picture and, partly in view, one of those simulator machines. :)
leebuk2005 August 11th, 2005, 12:54 AM Oh right its just they used to be loads and thats my best memory of Ashton as a kid.

They used to have three. One has been replaced with an electronic sign, one has been replaced with a simulator and the third is still there, only majorly refurbished. :)
I might venture up to Oldham this weekend if I get a chance and take some pictures.
Martin G August 11th, 2005, 01:20 AM Ashton under Lyne has even more Chavs than Stockport.
The market is pretty good though - I go there quite a lot as it happens.
EarlyBird August 11th, 2005, 01:24 AM Ashton under Lyne has even more Chavs than Stockport.
Indeed it does... What you don't see on my pics is that on the photo with the pigeons there is a group of about 10 scallies just off to the left and on my pic in the Ladysmith there is a similar sized group stood not far behind me.
leebuk2005 August 11th, 2005, 05:29 PM lol If your going up to Oldham at weekend to take a few pics you will probably see loads of chavs there too. I recamend a walk down to the culture quarter to see the new buildings down there.
