so, were the 4th richest country in the world so why do we have so many tramps? are they lazy fucks (some of them must be) or do we just not have systems in place to help them support themselves, whats the answer?

Well, as usual it's a mix of both: some are lazy, others have truly been dealt a rough hand in life.

I think there needs to be some sort of system in place whereby tramps can be given some shelter whilst being offered some sort of employment.

If there really is sufficient help to physically get them off the streets then why the hell are there not street teams going to every homeless person and taking them to a place to get registered for a home?

I don't give a shite what anybody says, in a country where we have the money to propose a maglev system we should have the moral obligation to provide a home for every single person within this country. The very least we can give somebody is shelter. Once they have a home, they have the ability to seek out work and make their own way with life, with the proper help and care. It's quite sickening that in this day and age we still treat the homeless as a nuisance.

Alot of them are people who dont try in life, muck around in school and dont care, then get to whatever age and realize they have no chance of getting a decent job so dont try and roam around. The ones which dont tend to be people who have no family to fall back on and have come from deprived backgrounds- I know its sad to say but its true. I dont know why they dont try and get jobs though. Anyone watch BBCs 'Skint' a few months ago? Following some tramps around Birmingham.

Most of the tramps on skint were trying their hardest though weren't they. Not as if they were sitting outside a chippy all day with a cup clasped in both hands, and begging just enough to buy a bottle of white lightening. Some of them do that though.

We should help them do something with their lives. Get them off drugs, off booze. Pay them £20 a day to clean litter up. Open more cheap hostels for people to crash, even if just overnight.

dgnr8, some are a bloody nuisance though. Theres one tramp who has asked me for money about 5 times all over Manc city centre in the past 6 months. Every time he has a different excuse, 'I've lost my mobile', 'My cars been stolen'. Come on. Don't bullshit people. If he told the truth ''I've made a mess of my life, I have nothing, please give me 50p so I can make it through the day'' I would give him some change. But what is he doing harassing 17 year olds for pennies?
Give them something. Menial tasks for enough to buy some decent food.

Some though are cheery odd fellows. One offered to sell me a map of the world outside the Hacienda.

Who gives a shit? Considering the notion of nobody giving them anything if they just plainly asked for some money, who can blame them for making excuses all the time?

I find it deeply hypocritical that no1 seems to justify the homeless being in the situation they are due to mucking about in school whilst proudly waving around his Make Poverty History signature.

its only a generalisation. The UK Tramps come nowhere near to the scale of poverty and the ease to eradicate most of it. The people on skint were trying quite hard, but the time they spent street performing for little money could have been better spent.

True or false: vagrancy is still a crime, you can theoretically get arrested for it.

Agreed.

One thing I can't stand though are the fakers who do it to get quick money. These people need shooting.

Its out of control...

We'll end up paying a seperate tax aimed towards those lazy fuckers eventually...'Sponger income tax'....anyone? Its a right cock up the benefits system...

Its funny.... the Tax payer pays the jobless, the lazy, benefit frauds twats, who infest our streets, to do nothing that warrants us to do so...Yet they have the cheek to mug, murder, rape, and anti-socially ruin our lives....

They dont realise...Im paying for the very clothes their wearing, and the food an shelter their receving, and so is every other hard working tax payer out there, but they either or arent educated enough to know, or more often the case !dont care!...

And everyone of us, is taken for a ride every fucking day...Jus wipe'em out, waste of space is a waste of time...

"I'm paying for the very clothes their wearing, and the food and shelter their receiving and so is every other hard working tax payer out there"

So are you really miss that .3% of your wages then?

And sod your "wipe them out" attitude. Seriously man, check your head.

I sincerely hope something never fucks you over completely. Because you'll be sat in the street with a cup full of change wondering why the fuck everybody is so up their own arse they can't help out another human being.

Somebody came into my shop today and said "put the change in a tips box". I told him we didn't have one and that he should just give it to the Big Issue seller who stands by The Sports Cafe. He said "like fuck, he'd only use it on beer and smack".

So what? So fucking what? They're humans. They have NO ability to get back into society because people like Manc Guy won't ever give them the opportunity to get back into society. If I give a homeless bloke £2, I couldn't give a shit if he goes and puts it in his veins. That's upto him. His life is pretty dire at that moment in time so if the only bit of pleasure this person can receive is a needle in the arm then what fucking right has anybody to judge them on it?

And I know the bloke well too. He doesn't do smack. Smokes a bit of weed when he can, but then I know a barrister in training who loves to while the weekend away with his crack pipe.

Fucking social stigmas fuck me off. Open your eyes man. The homeless aren't scum, they're humans and deserve to be warm, fed and sheltered just like Fat Baz the bus driver or Carruthers Fortesque Smythe III who really IS living off the tax payer (and giving nothing back) in his stately home in Surrey.

O'hush it up, taking the moral high ground just doesnt suit you atall mate...lol

Feed the habit? Lol you really are a nonce.
So you'd mentally derange their minds further and further, push them into a more deeply confused and dazed 'state of mind?' Im sure youv'e seen a few fights kick off after a booze up in manchester mate? Drink/Drugs alter the humans minds perception of whats 'right and wrong', so dngr you feed the habit you spur the addiction !you dont stop it! !you make it worse! !you dont ease the pain, you increase it! What happens when your not their giving street handouts, or when youve succesfully spured their addiction they'll need another fix without access to extra funds? violence? Rape? Murder? Im not paying for that, and i wouldnt take the chance no matter the homeless person, because its not worth it...Okay so's theirs people whov'e had a hard time in life, got it harsh, their not the only one for gods sake! Look at africa, 'Niger' for example...Thats aid i'd support, id pay for no matter the tax increase, and i donate when i can to the obvious charity organsiztions...

Im not saying atall, all homeless people are based on this stigmata, and i never implied that shit about the homeless before your post, i jus dont give the homeless cash in hand i.e. on the street as i dont have proof the'll use it for food or for the hostel i.e things they need to survive, i just wont take the gamble. And yes I will pay for rehab schemes as i know it's going towards a good cause Tax or no Tax as i already do anyway...I just hate the scum who fester in our council estates and claim what their not entitled to, an i know thats not everyone on an estate, it occurs outside too e.g.suburbia...(I mean i grew up on one, so im not some stiff upper lipped rich kid from bowdon cheshire)...But you just look at trisha, some mother who doesnt work, a father who doesnt either...Blonde hair, ear rings, talking of mobile phone bills, new trainers, new trackies, rents to much, sky TV !An we pay for it all! Or they pay threw a job and aren't telling the tax man about, so we pay for the benefits whilst they also claim anything else they can muster under the british goverment, whilst their out earning money anyway! And working a shitty job, okay it might not mean they have a luxury lifestyle/wage but who does? why should they? why should someone have sky TV, a mobile phone if they arent prepared to put in effort or earn it legally and fairly?...Its absurd, an if i ever get on as audience, on trisha show i'd seriously think about bombing the stage with a 99p six pack of lion quality eggs...Now thats something id pay to see time an time again..No doubt they'd sue me for personal damage...Claims direct anyone?

You have a terribly blinkered view on humans.

Moral highground? Sorry, I didn't realise this was a popularity contest. Woe betide anybody who is like me an has an ounce of human compassion!

Seriously man. Check your head. People are people. There's no difference between the poor of Niger and the poor of Britain except for the area. Their government just like ours, doesn't give the littlest shit about it's own poor population.

Ah fuck this. I could quite easily type up a long post but what's the point when you're already of the opinion that they're scum? Sort it out mate because your attitude to people worse off than you is nothing short of bigotry. And it's certainly not as endearing as you probably think it is.

Betide this *slap*

:hahaha:

Dngr please dont tickle my sides anymore...I mean the area? Is that it? Theres a world of difference, chap, Theres a '3rd world' difference you plonker! You cannot compare the strife and continued agony between the 2 cultures, its just not inteligent...Our goverment actually has the money to support its own population with food shelter, never mind giving 2 squrits of piss about the poor, where as in niger they can do neither!. Their perception on human rights are completley out this universe different, theres just absolutley no comparison 'atall' between poor people in 'Britain' and the poor people in 'Niger'.
